Certainly hope this isnt true. Flying to Virginia Sunday to drive back with my daughter to Colorado since her college kicked all students out of the dorms.
I dont see how it could be enforced on a national level without serious logistical hurdles that would be quite noticeable to the public.
My son is aboard one of the ships. Finally secured lockdown about two hours ago, then all the sailors from all the ships got to leave for the day, creating major traffic jam.

The money was already loaned. If you're OK with a city council loaning money for a private project, without seeking public input, then I guess vote no. If you prefer to hold elected officials accountable as to what they are doing with our tax dollars, vote yes.
We have other pressing, unfunded needs like roads, schools, etc...not a privately owned hotel/convention center whose investors are unknown, hiding behind an LLC.

Correct. This author is using enthymemes, which are syllogisms with one premise absent, with the hope that the receiver will automatically make the inferential leap internally.
I watched this story develop via social media yesterday - glad they finally did the right thing, but they really are behind the times with the power and immediacy of social media.
Under Armour did something similar a few weeks ago with the misguided basketball shirt mirroring the Iwo Jima flag raising...they managed to address the issue as it developed, even sending me a personal message via FB messenger apologizing for the incident. And, that was on a Sunday.
PacSun took much longer to react, and the uproar was therefore much bigger and louder.
I predict they are not in business for much longer if they can't respond to social media pressure.
