Thanks for all of the birthday wishes and prayers! Kaydance's surgery went really good. She was in the hospital for a week, but is doing absolutely great. She doesn't even act like she has had surgery. We go back to the surgeon today for follow up and for him to remove the bandage. Welcome back LucyJo!! Here are a few pictures for you all!!

Hey guys!! It’s been a minute, LOL!! Kaydance is doing great weighing in close to 13 pounds. We now have a surgery date to reverse the ostomy so we are excited. The only bad thing is it is scheduled for the day after her birthday with her being admitted on her birthday. But we are going to have her birthday party on the 20th so she can celebrate a little early.

She is so bad . . . but so sweet too, LOL!! I’ll post some pictures soon. We just had some pictures made for her birthday but they won’t be back until the 22nd.

Hello everyone!! I hope you all are doing good.

My sweet princess is doing great. She now weighs 11 pounds 7 ounces. She still isn’t crawling but she will stand if you help her (and take little steps if you help her). She is a fireball!! I love it . . She is just very spoiled and knows it (and is taking advantage already, LOL). She goes back to the surgeon next month and hopefully we will get a surgery date. Kaydance and I are both sick of the bag. She looks like she is playing the air guitar all the time because she is always scratching at it. I am thankful for it though because she has really been doing great since she has had it.

Also next month, she will be 1-year-old!! Can you believe it?!!!! It’s SO hard to believe. We have came a long way. She may be the littlest 1-year-old ever but that’s okay!! I’ll try to post some new pictures soon.

Hello all!! So . . Kaydance went for her developemental appointment. They said that she is meeting all of her milestones. The only thing they really said that she needed to work on was sitting up better. In order to do that, she has to have more tummy time which she absolutely hates (maybe because of the ostomy . . who knows). No walkers or Johnny Jump-ups. She has a big head which they said was good because it meant her brain was growing. They also encouraged me to read to her more. But other than that, they said she is looking great. Oh . . and they also said that with most preemies they usually are stiff (like in her arms and legs) but she has none of that which is a good thing.

So overall, a great appointment. We go back in 6 months. She will see that doctor again and also a physical therapist.

Kaydance is doing great these days. She is getting big. She probably only weighs about 11 or so pounds but she feels heavier every day. She is rolling over now and trying to talk. She will be crawling soon. She is also getting her first tooth. She will be going to a Developmental specialists on the 16th of this month to see how she is developing mentally. I'm excited because I know she is doing great!! Here are a few pics of my Princess!!

She is doing great. She now weighs over 10 pounds!! She is really a great baby!! She is getting so wild now. She is on the go constantly. She isn’t crawling but is trying and she has learned to scoot pretty well. Plus she bucks trying to get out of your lap, LOL!!! I’ll more pics soon.

Kaydance went to the surgeon yesterday. He said he thought she was doing great and wanted to see her back in three months. At that time, he will decide if it is time to reverse the ostomy or give it more time. She still weighs 9 pounds and 8 ounces. Here are a couple of pictures from Kaydance's first time swimming!! Sorry they are so big but my photobucket wouldn't work right.

Miss Kaydance is doing great. We went to the doctor yesterday and she now weighs 9 pounds 8 ounces!!! She is getting so big and active. She rolls over now and will be crawling soon (God help me!!!!). She goes back to the surgeon next week. I’m sure they’ll leave the ostomy for awhile and let her get a good bit bigger which is fine with me!!

She also is going to start a Early Intervention Program that helps Preemies with their development and to see exactly where they are. I think that will be great for her too.

She also does not have her apnea monitor anymore . . YAY!!!!!!! It has been so great to get rid of that thing!! So . . overall . . We are all doing absolutely great. I will try to post some new pics soon.

Definitely!!! I’m SO sick of the hospital. It’s bad when everyone there know you by name, LOL.

Kaydance is doing good. We went to the pediatrician yesterday to follow up after being back in the hospital. She has gained some weight and now weighs 8 pounds 7 ounces. They did blood work on her and it looks good. So hopefully now we are on the right track!!!

Well . . We just got back out of the hospital AGAIN. I took Kaydance to the doctor Thursday because she wouldn't eat and was real sleepy and just laying around a lot. They ran blood work and did some x-rays and found she was severely dehydrated so they admitted her back to the PICU. We were there for a couple of days and then moved to a regular room. We just got home yesterday evening. She has to be on a sodium supplement in her bottles from now on because with her ostomy she loses too much. She is just better now. Hopefully now it will be awhile before we have to go back. We were home ONE week, LOL! We are SO sick of the hospital!!! On another note, please vote for Kaydance for Baby Idol. A local radio station is doing this contest. It started with 280 babies and it is now down to the Top 50. Each time they do an elimination you can vote again. She deserves it so much. If she wins, she will get named Baby Idol and she will win a $500 shopping spree to a baby store called "Little Ones" and then us (the parents) will get $500 shopping spree to the mall. We are home (actually got home yesterday). Kaydance is doing good. I’m still learning this whole ostomy thing but I’ll get it eventually. She seems really happy. She just looks SO skinny. She dropped down to 6 pounds 10 ounces while in the hospital but now she is so long that it just makes her look so skinny. Hopefully now she will start gaining weight good. I just hate that she has to endure another surgery (hopefully it’s just one though). I HATE seeing her go through this.

Kaydance is still on the vent for now. They did start feeding her through the tube yesterday so that is a good thing. She is supposed to come off of the ventillator today as long as everything goes okay. So, hopefully by tonight we will be in a regular room.

Well I have to run, I am on my way back to the hospital and I am in a hurry. Thank you all for all of your prayers and well wishes. I wish I could respond to each and every one but I just can’t right now!! Thanks again!!! Much love!

Thanks for all of the prayers. I guess I will start at the beginning . . .

Monday, I took Kaydance to the pediaitrician because she was throwing up a lot. She admitted her to the hospital for dehydration. We thought it was a virus because both Phillip and my sister had had a bad virus with lots of vomiting. Once we are there, the doctors begin to say she has another obstruction. It was kinda hard for us to believe considering we were there for a virus. After much deliberation about another surgery, we finally agreed and it was scheduled for Wednesday. Tuesday night while the nurse was trying to put a cath in her, Kaydance stopped breathing and turned blue. After some patting on her back she started breathing again. They then moved her to the PICU.

She had surgery the next day. They decided to do an ileostomy (a drain that comes out of her side for poop) because her bowel was damaged and needs time to rest and heal.

She has been doing good since surgery. She is still on the vent because all of the air in her belly was pushing on her lungs and made her lungs partially collapse. The doctors want to keep her on the vent until her lungs have gotten more back to normal. They are still keeping her pretty sedated but she does wake up and look around at us. She is alert when she is awake.

So overall, it looks like we will be in the PICU for a few more days at least and then we will go out into a regular room for a few more days. But this does mean she is in for one more surgery to fix the ileostomy. Hopefully this will be all she has to endure. I hate looking into her eyes because I just see the pain and the confusion and it kills me. We are holding up but it has been really rough for us.

We do appreciate all of the prayers because we definitely need them. ((HUGS))

Kaydance is doing great this morning. She is getting bigger all the time. I take her to the pediatrician next week so we will see how much weight she has gained. She turned 7 months old yesterday . . So hard to believe!!!

Thanks also for remembering Malachi today. I can’t believe it has already been 3 years since Malachi went to Heaven. I miss him all the time and wish he could be here with his little sister!!!

Here's one more!

Little Miss is doing great. We did the annual March of Dimes walk this Saturday. The weather was great. She slept pretty much the whole time which made it pretty easy for me. Other than that, nothing too new to report. She is getting bigger and smarter everyday!!

She does!! I took her to a wedding a couple of weeks ago and she was watching EVERYBODY and EVERYTHING! She was taking it all in. She is very observant!!
