Long ago, in a reality far far away a radio station in LA (KROQ I believe) put out a Devo tribute album called “Devotees”. Each song performed by a different person or group. Mostly consisted of covers of Devo songs, but the standout was a version of “Okie from Muskogee” done in the same style Devo used for “Satisfaction”. Though I have long since lost the album, that rendition of Okie is by far my favorite.
I may not have given it a close reading, but no where in what I read was the reason the security officer felt compelled to fire was mentioned. I don’t think the reason was shoplifting while black.
