I am so over TV news’ obsession with the big “gets.” Maybe Megyn Kelly should be, too. In her first few weeks anchoring NBC’s Sunday Night with Megyn Kelly, the former Fox News host has made headlines for drawing Russian president Vladimir Putin to the interview chair and for attempting, at least, to introduce conspiracy peddler Alex Jones to a wider audience. With an average of just 3.5 million viewers, the news magazine edition featuring the segment on Jones came in behind reruns of CBS’s 60 Minutes and ABC’s America’s Funniest Home Videos, and was down slightly from the 3.6...

Homing in on an object found during the Hubble Space Telescope's long, deep stare into the distant past, astronomers have fished out a galaxy whose light has traveled more than 13 billion light-years to get here, making it the oldest astronomical object found so far. The universe's most senior citizen is called UDFy-38135539, but scientists suspect its title as record-holder -- previously held by a gamma-ray burst -- will not last.

There are many who deserve credit for sending McCain & Palin to the White House. First, of course, are those who have rallied to the cause of conservatism. But there is a forgotten group that deserves much credit, too, and they need to hear from us after the votes are in. So, let's start a "Thank You" card list of all the Democrats and liberals we need to thank for stepping up to the plate. On November 5th, we should take the time to send a personal note of thanks to each of these giving individuals. C'mon, these folks worked...

On Wednesday night, former Governor Mike Huckabee walked on stage of Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.” It's clear the former governor realized he was on a comedy show making light of a serious point; he tries to be non-partisan. "For 10 and a half years I governed a state where 86 percent of the elected officials are Democrats and I'm a Republican. If I thought or acted like that, we couldn't have passed gas in the house chamber," he joked. With a laugh from the crowd he appeared to impress Daily Show host Jon Stewart who joked...

A Miller County circuit judge has approved a $90 million settlement in a class-action case against Internet search engine leader Google. Circuit Judge Joe Griffin said the settlement was fair and reasonable. It includes $30 million to the lawyers representing businesses that alleged Google didn't do enough to prevent so-called click fraud on its site.

A plan to turn the former Fayetteville home of Bill and Hillary Clinton into a museum would have the facility open on the couple's 30th wedding anniversary in October. The house is at 930 California Boulevard by the University of Arkansas campus. The university is buying the home for $250,000. The one-bedroom, one-bathroom house was built in 1931. Bill and Hillary Clinton lived in the home from August 1973 to December 1976. They were married there October 11, 1975, while they were on faculty at the UA law school. The Fayetteville Advertising and Promotion Commission is working on the project...

Kylan McCutcheon has bragging rights. Kylan will probably have bragging rights for a very long time. Most deer hunters would be happy. Make that VERY happy to have an 8-point, 10-point, or the very rare 12-point buck. The 16-year-old student at Jasper High School bagged a 25-point buck during the opening week of deer season. The deer is one of the largest ever taken in Arkansas during an opening weekend. Kylan was in a ground blind when he spotted the huge buck chasing a doe.

MOSCOW (AP) - President Vladimir Putin said Wednesday that Russia is developing a new form of nuclear missile unlike those held by other countries, news agencies reported. Speaking at a meeting of the Armed Forces' leadership, Putin reportedly said that Russia is researching and successfully testing new nuclear missile systems. "I am sure that ... they will be put in service within the next few years and, what is more, they will be developments of the kind that other nuclear powers do not and will not have," Putin was quoted as saying by the ITAR-Tass news agency. Putin reportedly said:...

STANFORD, Calif. (AP) - The presidents of the three major television network news divisions were concerned about early election day exit polls that wrongly indicated Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry was leading President Bush in several key battleground states. But they also said the problem had been compounded when the exit polls, which were sponsored by a consortium of major news organizations including the Associated Press, were leaked onto the Internet. That, the presidents said Monday night, resulted in a widely publicized but ultimately incorrect expectation of how the election would ultimately turn out.

Little Rock - Just four days remain until the opening of the Clinton Presidential Library. Hotels are turning away those who don't have previous reservations. Thirty-thousand people are expected and hotels and Limo services will be operating at full capacity the days surrounding the library opening. Workers at the newly opened Marriott Hotel have been referring people to hotels out of town for the library opening. The hotel is one of several completely booked up the days closest to the Presidential Library opening. Limo services will also feel the crunch, one service owner said calls started coming in about 3...

Little Rock (AP) - Lawyers made oral arguments before the Arkansas Supreme Court Thursday in Ralph Nader's challenge of a judge's ruling that would keep him off the Arkansas ballot. Nader's lawyers say the independent candidate should be on the ballot because laws that would keep his name off are flawed. (snip) Last week, the Supreme Court ordered a halt to the printing of presidential ballots until it decides whether Nader is qualified for the ballot.
