In a stunning rebuke of President Obama’s tepid calls for Israel to show "restraint" in response to daily rocket fire on Israeli civilian targets by Hamas terror redoubts in Gaza, Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper, long considered Israel’s best friend and strongest defender, all but condemned President Obama by name for what he regards as Washington’s irresolute support for Israel during its time of grave crisis. In perhaps his most strongly worded statement to date, Prime Minister Harper proclaimed that self defense is "not merely an Israeli right" to be exercised only in the abstract, but an "Israeli obligation" that...

Barbecue. Did you think he would go to the border? Nuh uh. I thought he would. But I gave him too much credit. Instead, the president headed for a rib joint! He cut in line, but paid off the unlucky barbecue seekers. From the pool report: After POTUS finished at Austin’s Paramount, motorcade sped east just past I-35 to Franklin’s, a hugely popular barbecue spot that was packed. Pool squeezed in just as POTUS reached the head of the line at the counter to order. He apologized to the two at the head of the line for cutting in front...

There’s a third-world style humanitarian crisis on our border. Terrorists have established their own state, a Caliphate, no less. Israel is on the cusp of war with the Palestinians. The economy cratered the first quarter of the year. And here is your president, joshing today in Denver after a night of billiards and pizza.(vide0) Meanwhile, President Obama’s aides are feeding the boss’s churlish insouciance. The White House has been promoting it’s latest PR stunt, “The Bear is Loose,” which features vignettes and videos of Obama – “the bear” – happily hop-scotching off his programmed schedule and staging impromptu appearances wherever...

Serious allegations are cropping up against the National Republican Senatorial Committee. The NRSC paid an Alexandria, VA company $13,000.00 for media production and $69,000 for media on June 20, 2014. On the same day that same company placed media buys for “All Citizens of Mississippi,” a campaign group that has failed to file any documentation with the FEC other than its statement of organization. Here’s the problem. No one can seem to find any evidence that any ads ran in Mississippi after June 20th paid for an authorized by the National Republican Senatorial Committee. In fact, Rick Shaftan, a political...

The recent decision by an obscure administrative law board to cancel the Washington Redskins‘ trademark registrations came despite the fact the agency hadn’t received a single letter from a member of the public complaining about the team’s name, records show. The Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, which is part of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, ruled last month that the name was disparaging to American Indians. The team is appealing that decision. Politicians, including President Obama, have waded into the team name controversy, with many saying the team should change its name. But despite widespread media attention and a...

The nation of Sweden is demanding that the Obama administration act to deny copyright status to the Minnesota Vikings, claiming the name demeans its citizens and all other Scandinavians. “We can no longer tolerate the use of this disgusting epithet by an American football team,” said Swedish Prime Minister Olaf Milkquist in a letter to President Obama “First of all, ‘football’ means ‘soccer,’ Milkquist wrote. “I realize that this is an unrelated matter, but it really pisses people off in Europe. You only use your foot occasionally in football, whereas in soccer the foot is the only thing you can...

I had occasion to rewatch this speech today before I went on “The O’Reilly Factor.” Given Dec. 14, 2011 at Fort Bragg in North Carolina, its contents are gut-wrenching. 1. This one, in which Obama concedes that you’d take post-surge 2011 Iraq over pretty much any other major country in the Middle East post Arab Spring and Obama presidency:“It’s harder to end a war than begin one. Indeed, everything that American troops have done in Iraq -– all the fighting and all the dying, the bleeding and the building, and the training and the partnering -– all of it has...

As fresh word arrives of Islamic militants continuing their full-speed assault on Baghdad and executing thousands along the way, President Obama rushed back to Washington Monday to convene national security advisers on a path forward. Well, actually, that's not true. The commander-in-chief did not rush back at all from his long weekend getaway in southern California. He arrived in Palm Springs' sunshine Friday. Saturday he spoke at the University of California-Irvine graduation. He, of course, did a Democrat fundraiser, a feature of almost every trip nowadays. And then the president played golf, lots of golf. On Sunday he also phoned...

“Congressman, are we paying attention here, or what are we doing with the iPad?” asked local debate moderator Diana Williams during a primary debate with Congressman Charlie Rangel (D-NY). Rangel was shown on camera browsing on an iPad during a debate in which he casually dismissed his challengers' criticizing his record in Congress. Later Williams chided Rangel a second time as he continued to fumble with his iPad. “Congressman, are you Googling during this debate?” she asked sternly. “No. I just wanted to show that what he was picking out was consistent…” “But it’s not fair,” Williams interrupted, pointing out...

According to a Senator who has been defending the administration's deal for Bowe Bergdahl, the 5 Taliban prisoners would have been freed sometime soon anyway, making this our last chance to get something for them. Senator Angus King, an independent who caucuses with Democrats, said this at the end of his interview with CNN Thursday: There's one other very important point that needs to get out there. There is a reasonable legal argument that these five guys would have had to be released any way within the next year under the law of war. They were being held in Guantanamo...

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell is taking sides in the Mississippi Senate primary run-off, stepping out to help raise money for Sen. Thad Cochran, R-Miss., against his Tea Party challenger, Chris McDaniel. McConnell will host a "run-off reception" benefiting Cochran, a six-term incumbent, on the evening of June 10 at the National Republican Senatorial Committee in Washington. In an email to party donors Friday, obtained by the Washington Examiner, McConnell warned that the outcome of the contest "will have a very real impact on our fight for the Majority," even though Mississippi is considered a Republican stronghold. "Our friend Thad...

President Obama announced today that White House Press Secretary Jay Carney will depart as press secretary. Obama, who interrupted the White House briefing as Carney was taking questions, said Principal Deputy White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest will take his place. Carney seemed surprised by the interruption. Carney said he would leave soon, probably the second or third week of June. He will leave the White House but says he has not decided where he will go. “It’s been an amazing experience, just, so fulfilling,” Carney said, thanking the president and vice president.

Democratic gubernatorial candidate Alan Webber of New Mexico says of his likely political opponent, Republican governor Susana Martinez, that "We need to send her back to wherever she really came from." Watch here"So I’m asking you for your help, we need to make Susana Martinez a one-term governor. We need to send her back to wherever she really came from," says Webber in a video obtained by The Weekly Standard. "I suspect it’s Texas. And that would be good for Texas and that would be good for New Mexico." Martinez, who is up for reelection this year, is a Hispanic...

Talk show host and military veteran Montel Williams went after President Barack Obama on Wednesday for not using his West Point speech as an opportunity to apologize to members of the U.S. military for having “dropped the ball on the veterans’ health.” “The president just promised $5 billion for terrorists around the world?! At West Point?!” Williams said angrily. “Where he could have used the day to say, ‘I’m sorry for the pain that I’ve caused you, the families, and I’m gonna fix it today!’” Williams then called for a “#VASurge” campaign to make sure there is enough funding to...

WASHINGTON—President Barack Obama is close to authorizing a mission led by the U.S. military to train moderate Syrian rebels to fight the regime of Bashar al-Assad and al Qaeda-linked groups, a move that would expand Washington's role in the conflict, U.S. officials said. A new military training program, if implemented, would supplement a small train-and-equip program led by the Central Intelligence Agency which Mr. Obama authorized...

JACKSON, Mississippi — State Sen. Chris McDaniel told Breitbart News Sunday host Stephen K. Bannon, the executive chairman of Breitbart News, that “courage” is needed in Washington to fight the national debt and change the direction of the country. “I think Mississippians understand the significance of it,” McDaniel said when Bannon asked why he’s made the national debt—and unfunded liabilities of it—a major focus of his campaign. McDaniel added: I have two kids; I’ve got a two-year-old and a seven-year-old. My dream has always been to leave them a better country than the one I inherited. Based on those numbers,...

A New York City cab driver insisted Friday that it is his right, hands down, to wear a Nazi armband – even if the Taxi and Limousine Commission says otherwise. As CBS 2’s Lou Young reported Friday evening, Gabriel Diaz, 26, spoke outside of his family’s home in the Throggs Neck section of the Bronx, after he was suspended for wearing a swastika while driving the cab. “I am. I’m a National Socialist – what you guys call a Nazi. I am. I’m a believer of it,” Diaz said. Diaz was suspended for wearing the armband while driving his cab....

CNN's "The Lead" anchor Jake Tapper grilled White House Chief of Staff Dennis McDonough over the scandal involving failures of the Department of Veterans Affairs to give veterans timely treatment. Tapper detailed the failures under current VA Secretary Eric Shinseki such as the 2011 Legionnaires Disease outbreak and the fact that the VA officials responsible for the outbreak were given perfect performance reviews and raises, and blasted the “culture of no accountability” at the VA. He also detailed a 2013 letter from House Veterans Affairs Committee Chairman Jeff Miller (R-FL) raising concern over malfeasance within the VA healthcare system that...

A devastating new McKinsey & Co. report finds that Obamacare's purported purpose – providing coverage for the previously uninsured – has failed. The report concludes that 74% of Obamacare enrollees at the end of the first open enrollment period already had insurance; just 26% reported being previously uninsured. Of those who were previously uninsured, the figure drops to only 22% when considered alongside whether the individual has activated his plan by paying his first month's premium. According to the Associated Press, at least 4.7 million Americans had their health insurance plans canceled due to Obamacare. Many of those individuals simply...
