shot in the lung? just in time for him to start sounding like darth vader?

but id rather cut off his legs and burn him before he dies!

That is of course if we even give him the legacy.

bounty hunting is incredibly ludicrous. To most iraqi's theres not much difference between 1 million and 25 million. Unless of course they left the country.

I agree that most of the correspondance between the US and syria is probably secretive. The US asks for something it really needs like for syria to assist with border patrols, and in turn they give us a high profile but essentially useless target like saddams brother in law. I would not hesitate for one second to make the assumption that the only reason Syria gave up Saddams brother in-law several months back was to create the illusion in the MSM that they were actually cooperating. Unfortunatly for us the MSM is about as smart as a fish chasing bait. They play the story and uninformed americans rally behind the belief that action on syria would be unjust.
Yes I agree, moving in on Syria now might be justified but it would be completely counter-productive. Its easier to fight the border war than the whole country. And if Assad doesnt cooperate, then its likely that the ensuing political pressure will ultimatly topple his regime hopefully from inside out.

Before we all start drawing up war plans to invade syria (as I'm sure J7 in the pentagon has already done-SOP as a contingency plan) I think we should really look at the strategy behind Our involvment here in the first place. I'm willing to bet the US anticipated Syria's withdrawel of Lebanon. In fact the US is probably surprised the move came so late in the game. IF you had an enemy at your doorstep, wouldnt you too come back from your neighbors house to defend your own? The US entrance into Iraq was genius on so many levels, liberating iraq and lebanon were two of them. But now to what we know for sure. Among the abundance of evidence found in fallujah was 'hard' proof of insurgents being trained by syrian military officials. On top of that has anyone asked why a syrian official is on my brigades top five most wanted list?
I think, and i could be wrong here, but i think the US is going to keep syria in a 'holding pattern' for some time. Focus on creating an iraqi military, handing authority over to them at the same time creating more of a threat to syria. (remembering that syria is ruled by the ba'ath party-Iraqi people despise the ba'ath party!) The authorization for the military to push into syria as much as necessary might have been another chess move to sort of act as a catalyst for syria to expedite its withdrawel from lebanon. Regardless, I think the US will continue its offensives along the border as necessary, very patiently pacing ourselves all while hiding our intentions behind diplomatic efforts. As to when syrias borders are penetrated, it could take years. Maybe there banking on all the democratic nations soon to be surrounding it as being the ones that apply the most pressure for them to follow suit?

What do you want them to do? Write an article that the US military is great?" sam_paine

Somehow I think they'd say the Iraqi Military is great before they said the US military is.

we actually started handing over authority of zones in Baghdad over a month ago. Not many, but there were a few. Cant name them for opsec reasons. So far those zones have done really well for themselves. Wheres the MSM for that story?
