  • Did “Ron Paul's Revolution” Stay Home Last Night? (where are 3 million missing McCain voters?)

I'm a RP supporter, i actively follow thedailypaul, the vocal active majority there definitely didn't vote for Romney. I won't speak for the others, but for myself, my intention isn't to teach the GOP a lesson per say, I simply don't think this way.

Living here in CA, i was amazed at the general reaction to 2 Bush terms, it was like everyones dog died after those 2 elections, and then to see a complete 180 in attitude now that a Dem has won twice. Yet nothing is truly any different, not policies, not our way of life, not our general living conditions etc. It's the silliest thing, people are so brainwashingly attached to ideals they really don't know what they vote for, and even when i explain to them how similar Obama is to Bush, i can get them all to agree with me yet it generaly won't change their future vote. I have gotten less than 2 handfuls of people to actually register, temporarily, to Republican just to vote for Ron Paul (Go CA state primary rules...) in the primaries (every single one of them switched back and voted Obama in both main elections). It feels like failure because I’ve literally talked to over a thousand people about politics, my knowledge surpasses anyone I’ve ever talked to, people are often intimidated to keep talking to me but i keep a calm, legit attitude, yet i can't change a brainwashed ideal for the most part. I hardly ever, get to talk to Republicans here, since I’m young, live in the Bay Area, and my social circles are other young ppl, they are predominantly “liberal” minded, yet not “liberal” whatsoever in actuality, if you know what i mean.

My point is though, as a RP supporter i see a strange equality between the parties and any difference that would represent actual change and benefit between them, is simply non existent with whoever gets nominated. I am baffled at the ideals of the majority, regardless which way they lean, i see a difference on say ... abortion... and gay marriage, 2 subjects overblown and i personally could care less about atm since the sovereignty of our nation is headed towards a cliff. (If i want an Abortion, you wouldn't be able to stop me, if i wanna marry someone of the same gender, i really don't need a piece of paper that sais so) If i was teaching anyone a lesson, I’d want the country to know how little difference i see between 2 parties, and refuse to back candidates unless they represent true liberty values and most importantly, real responsible fiscal changes for our country, i don't care if there is D or an R by their name.

If i had never seen Ron Paul speak, i would probably be a registered Democrat, voting for Obama thinking my choice really saved this country's future, but i was truly enlightened by Ron Paul, when he speaks, it's nothing short of powerful and it made me think much differently, and most importantly, actually think, care and be active about politics.
