What's obviously irregular about the alleged Obama passport is that the place of birth was listed as "Hawaii, USA." Ordinarily, the format for a place of birth within the United States is a city (or other locality), followed by a state, followed by USA. A specific city or locality would be the first item listed for a place of birth of a foreign born individual as well.
Also, after the fixed "Place of Birth" followed by a slash, the French translation should start with the word "Lieu" which is barely decipherable. It's the only word on that line that is. Why
The "ordinary format", as you word it, is State and County. Don't believe me, look at the "example passport" that TheCipher posted in his comment #419. His passport shows just Massachusetts, USA.
As to your second point, the full line reads,"Place of birth / Lieu de naissance / Lugar de nacimiento" Why you're having trouble reading it from the photo posted is pretty obvious, it's a crummy screen capture. Take a look at the video on YouTube, and select the HD version.
What you're reading on page 6 as "UNITED" is actually the word "VISA". The word you're reading as "STATE", is actually "ETATS", and the word after that is "SCHENGEN".
What you're seeing on pg 6 is a French Visa.
The really hilarious thing is that just this morning Orly Taitz filed a motion with SCOTUS using your analysis as a basis for her motion. Epic Fail.
