  • Am I the only one who is sick and tired of having comments I make on a thread on FR trashed and bashed by left wingers masquerading as FReepers?

I enjoyd my knockdown-dragouts. I lived in liberal Cleveland; Ohio at the time. This was the only place I could come to and have fighters who agreed with me. Family and friends and co-workers were all Democrats. My wife and I were the only Conservatives in our respective families. I enjoyed not fighting alone for a change.

This is nothing compared to what us old timers went through back in the late 90’s when FR first started. Back then you didn’t have to register and log on to make a comment. We caught H-E-double toothpicks. Of course we gave as good as we took (hehe). Have fun with it. We did. Pretent you’re a pig... enjoy the slop.

As with any stock investment. If you want to sell it, there must be someone willing to buy it. The Chi-Coms invested so much much in “No Experience” that the stock is too high to even sell. So he’s stuck with it... and they are stuck with him. “No Experience” can’t make up the difference because he bought too many expensive houses for his mom and dad.

Dirty Little non-Secret: It actually wasn’t his money anyway. It was Pop’s money laundered through him.

    Jim,
My heartfelt condolences. I’ve been with you since before we needed passwords to post comments. The good old days of knock-down-dragout verbal fights. Lots of good ones.

You never get over a loss like this. You just power through. (Voice of experience.) I am living proof. All the best to you and your family.

Not to try to outdo you, but I started reading FreeRepublic in 1996 when you didn’t have to be registered to make comments. Not sure how long that lasted, but there were so many hit-and-run trolls trying to tear us all down, that Jim was forced to require registration for comments. Hard to imagine I didn’t register until 2001, but that’s what my profile says, so it must be true.

FreeRepublic has since been my first stop for breaking news. I, too, join you in offering many, many thanks to Jim Robinson for sticking with it through all the trials (literally) and tribulations since his first bold move in 1996 to create FreeRepublic.

I’ve learned a lot through all of my friendly (and not so friendly) conversations through the years on FR. Believe me, I’ve had some doozy knock-down-drag-out exchanges here. I’m totally addicted. Keep up the good work.

I quit even trying to defend Trump. I just remind his critics that they didn’t turn their backs on Bill Clinton in spite of all the things he is KNOWN to have done before, during and after leaving office, so don’t expect me to turn my back on my guy.

I telI them if they had not made excuses and admitted the scumbag that Clintoon was back then (and still is) I would consider listening to them. But since they didn’t... Get outta my face. Shuts ‘em right up.

The same type math applies to the jobs OBlame-a claims to have “created.” Dividing the $800,000,000,000 “Stimulus” by their claim of 5,000,000 jobs created, it turns out to be $160,000 per job. Same logic. Yet the news media just accepts it, drinks the cool-aid and carries on.

Notice they’ve dropped the term “created OR saved.”

This is a dynamite story. I couldn’t help but post on it since my tagline has dealt with abortion for the past 10 years or so since I had a conversation with a staunch pro-abortion co-worker. She mentioned a “woman’s right to choose.” I told her that half of the babies aborted would have grown up to be women. And I asked “What about their right to chose what to do with their bodies. I also added “What about the boy babies right to chose too.” It stopped her in her tracks. I had actually never thought of it that way either. From that day on she began to soften her abortion views when talking to others. I haven’t seen her in many years. I hope she’s completely changed over to pro-life.

This story gives us just that much more amunition against the baby killers we face today.

    Thanks for Posting it.

  • Former Obama campaign co-chair to stump for Romney

I agree on his genuine change. I live in his old Congressional district and I saw his wheels of change grinding a few years ago before he gave up his seat. It certainly came to a head during the debates about Obamacare. He was totally against it in a district that he could never win again as an anti-Obama. That’s why he chose not to run for re-election. I certainly would never run here. I might get 15% of the vote on a sunny day. The other 85% are die-die-die-hard liberals.

I am not surprised at all about him stumping for the Republicans now. I don’t actually know him personally, but I can pretty much...all but guarantee that he’s a genuine convert. Although it’s time that will tell.

  • Is black support of Obama based only on race?

Absolutely RIGHT-ON!!! My Brother was talking about voting for Obama because he was black. I asked him if he would have voted for Condolesa Rice...NO. I named a couple of other black Republicans...NO...NO. I told him then that those answers proved he did NOT vote for Obama because he was black but that he voted for him because he was a DemocRAT. That was the end of that conversation.

  • Cleaver (D-Mo.): If Obama wasn't president, we would be ‘marching on the White House’

    gooleyman to Justaham

Yep. It has nothing to do with him being Black. It’s because he’s a DemocRAT. I had the discussion with my Brother in ‘08 about voting for Obama because he was black. He insists that he voted for him for that reason. I then asked him if he would have voted for Condolesa Rice. NO. Colin Powell. NO. “Well,” I said to him, “You didn’t vote for Obama because he’s black. You voted for him because he’s a DemocRAT.” He had to admit it because that was the truth of the matter. And it’s the truth in this Cleaver guy’s case too. They wouldn’t have done any such marching against Clintoon. Afterall, he was considered by the Black Caucus to be the “first black president.”

To answer your question...yes there would be a march against a Black Republican. But the question is moot because if there were a Republican of any color in office, these bad times wouldn’t be happening. George Bush inherited a recession too. He wasn’t the most conservative choice, but at least his policies made it better, not worse like Zero-Bama’s have. Deeper tax cuts and drastic reductions in regulations would have had the same effect on this recession too.

  • Do Republicans Ideas Lead to Job Growth?

Another example of Democrats falsly accusing Republicans of doing what they are ACTUALLY doing:

Obama’s cronies accuse Perry of riding on all the jobs “created” in Texas by the Porkulus plan when really it’s Obama who is riding on the backs of all the Republican Governors’ policies that are creating ALL the jobs Obama boasts about. Obama’s actions have only cost jobs just as I told all of his cool-aid drinking buddies it would. I don’t hear as much praise of him from them anymore. Their silence is solid gold to my ears. I don’t even have to say “I told you so.” But they know the words are right on the tip of my tongue.

Truth be told, if it weren’t for the Republican Governors’ policies, this would make the Great Depression look like boom-times.

  • Students, staff to receive laptops

I’m not familiar either, but I went to a community meeting with the Principal of the new High School that was just built near me and he raved about getting all 850 students new Apple laptops. I probably should have spoken up at the time, but it seemed like a done deal. I figured the laptops were probably on the way as we spoke. We have another meeting this Thursday and I definitely will say something since I read this article. I remember this same thing from years ago. It seems that Apple has only lost market share since then. I’d better check my stats before I make a complete idiot of myself in front of the whole County, huh? I don’t mind being a partial idiot, but a complete idiot....I’d like for no one to know that about me...smile.

Forget my last comment (I’ll leave it in here for comedic relief.) I just looked up Apple’s market share. It’s almost a whopping 10%...WOW!!! It indeed is growing. I’m surprised at that. Up from 4% in 2006. I bet most of that surge is because of school systems like this one and mine doing wholesale buying with taxpayer money. Every company I deal with through my buisness is PC Compatible. I still believe most if not all industry is PC-Compatible so for that reason and for the sake of my business, I will still “suffer” with the Windows platform and suggest that Students use PC Compats. Plus I’m too old to change now.

Plus the price of PC Compatibles when buying a large quantity seems to be about a quarter to a third of the price of Apples depending on where you get them.
