I remember him once standing there with his cigar and that smirk of his saying...”three doctors have told me to stop smoking. Two of them are dead and the other isn’t felling too good”.
Challenge it in Federal courts. The right to liquor and cigarettes are not guaranteed by the Constitution. The right to keep and bear arms is. Regular sales tax? Maybe. A special tax? Unconstitutional!
My video cabinets contain about 500 discs collected over 25 years ...DVDs,Blurays and 4K (the VHS tapes were tossed years ago). At least half are British...comedies,documentaries and dramas.
One thing to keep in mind...guys of my generation (Boomer) grew up with cowboys in films and on TV. But they've been eclipsed by mob movies. Sixty years ago it was "Black Bart"...today it's "Tommy" and "Big Paulie".
I remember the buildup for The Irishman.*This* is Scorsese's Masterpiece" was the refrain. I've seen it...once.It was good,I'm glad I saw it.But I won't be watching it again.OTOH,I have Goodfellas in 4K and watch it every 6 months (Karen looks good in 4K).
I would be curious to see what Rotten Tomatoes says about Goodfellas and The Irishman...but I'm too lazy to check. ;-)
From your screen name I assume you're a woman. If I'm correct it's entirely understandable that you don't like mob films.Unless I'm mistaken the "typical" American woman doesn't.I also suspect that the "typical" American woman doesn't like war films but I,a guy, love "Patton"..."Saving Private Ryan"..."Bridge On The River Kwai" and others.
As for "comic book" movies I'm not even sure what that means. IMO "The Dark Knight" is a true classic...one of my very favorite films. I don't know if Scorsese considers it a "comic book" film or not.
Or,in my home it's watching a 4K disc of a true classic (e.g.,Bridge On The River Kwai or Lawrence of Arabia) or one of those amazing BBC nature videos...which,on my equipment, makes it look like the giraffe is actually in the room.
I buy all my 4K discs (and other discs) used on ebay so Hollyweird doesn't benefit directly from my purchases.
