and thanks to the internet and social media for allowing the rot to spread. When we were young, we could not imagine the things that are so readily available now.

LCMS was originally in the unity discussion, so my grandfather followed events closely. He told me that the idea of Christ not really dying but going into a coma and waking up from it was tossed around by the progressive synods at the talks. He was rightfully appalled!
ELCA is not Lutheran and often not Christian anymore. It’s a shame that the church bodies that joined together to form this monstrosity decades ago set them on this path. When Scriptural inerrancy is thrown aside Satan steps in. Btw, I am a lifelong Lutheran.

Hubby had an idea and planted 2 varieties of green beans instead of our usual standard of just one. The idea was to plant some of each type 2 weeks apart. Good idea. But - he chose a variety of bean for one type that has heavy strings AND he planted both types mixed together. When picked, I can’t tell the difference just by looking, so I have to string the whole batch. Next season our plans will be revised! 2 carefully chosen varieties planted in their own zones in succession. Gardeners learn something every summer no matter how long they have been gardening.

Beautiful Wisconsin summer day here! Veggie garden looks good, but too soon to harvest any. Cut the first crop of herbs on Tuesday and they have dried nicely in the sun. We are promised a rainy day tomorrow which we really need. My hubby is currently putting up red and blue lightbulbs into the strands that outline our home’s roof so we can have red, white and blue lights for July.

Question: we put rabbit manure on the veggie garden this spring. SIL farms rabbits and always has some to share. Do you think we will need to fertilize again this growing season?
Closure of one in the West Side of Milwaukee was announced at the same time. It is very near to a low income housing complex. Walmart gave the same statement about profitability. Our local TV ‘news’ hit all the popular notes about food deserts and dis-whatevering the poor, but reported nothing about the theft that impacts the profits.
