Step 1: Over the Air Antenna for network sports. If you have a nice TV you should notice a significant improvement in picture quality with OTA. Cable and Sat both step on their signals.
Step 2. Get a set top box: My company creates solutions for set top boxes like Roku, Boxee, etc, Roku CURRENTLY provides the best combination of price, content and usability. The XS (top of the line) box comes with an RF remote and can even be mounted on the back of a TV. If you don’t have wireless set up in your house the XS is the only one with an Ethernet port. I have mine in a closet running through an HDMI switching receiver. Apple TV would be a game changer if it was an open platform like i0S on the iPhone and iPad. I think this will happen eventually but I think Apple is trying to secure the adequate content rights to be the category killer when it launches and some think they will tie this to a launch an actual TV set. HULU and Amazon Prime are great subscriptions. I have all these boxes in my house, but I use the Roku the mostl. I use the Apple TV as more of a media/music server for all macs and pc’s in the house,
