Need help solving forum selections. I'm using an android so-so smart phone to FReep and stay informed. Problem is, although I've selected Chat/General and News/Activism....somehow "religion" "blogs/bloggers" and "everything" are also high lighted which in turn fills my thread page with threads I really don't want to respond to but Some thread titles can be misleading...it's might seem petty to some, but can lead to misunderstandings. How does one fix this...I've send this to the help section, but no response so far

A pair of fifth-generation F-22 stealth fighter jets joined a pair of Cold-War era A-10 attack aircraft in Estonia over the weekend in a show of support to NATO allies against Russian military activity in the region. The Raptors and about 20 supporting airmen from the 95th Fighter Squadron at Tyndall Air Force Base in Florida, along with a KC-135 Stratotanker refueling tanker, arrived Sept. 5 at the Ämari Air Base in Estonia as part of the European Reassurance Initiative, according to a press release from the Air Force.

It has been 50 years since two Avro Lancaster bombers flew side by side. The Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum's Avro Lancaster, VeRA, flew from Hamilton, Ontario to meet her British counterpart, Thumper—the only other surviving flight worthy Lancaster bomber in the world—the RAF Battle of Britain Memorial Flight's (BBMF) Lancaster in England. Suddenly SeeMore...Productions Inc's specialty is reality adventure television and the people who make it. VALDOSTA -- An Air Force veteran and former Playboy model who was banned from Valdosta State University on Friday after taking an American flag from a group of demonstrators is now organizing her own demonstration that she said is to show support for the military and the flag. Michelle Manhart was detained but not arrested by VSU police after she took the flag from a group of protesters. She said she was not planning to take the flag from the protesters, but she had heard about the group's recent campus demonstrations and wanted to take action. "I did not want...

A group representing atheists has decided to end its attempt to remove the words "under God" from the Pledge of Allegiance. The American Humanist Association allowed its 45-day window to appeal a Monmouth County Superior Court judge's ruling to pass, according to a report on APP.com. The group didn't say why it chose to stop its legal challenge. The judge had tossed the group's lawsuit, which demanded the phrase be taken out of the pledge recited each morning in the Matawan-Aberdeen school district. Superior Court Judge David Bauman said the reference to God in the Pledge is more of a...

Christianity’s tent is not big enough to accommodate both the supporters of Indiana’s Religious Freedom Restoration Act and Rutgers professor Brittney Cooper, who in a Wednesday piece for Salon blasted both the state’s pre-fix RFRA and the religious right in general. “This kind of legislation is rooted in a politics that gives white people the authority to police and terrorize people of color, queer people and poor women,” declared Cooper. “That means these people don’t represent any kind of Christianity that looks anything like the kind that I practice…This white, blond-haired, blue-eyed, gun-toting, Bible-quoting Jesus of the religious right is...

Engineers are trying to fix the F-35’s software package after it was discovered the sensors for the Joint Strike Fighter malfunction when detecting targets when the aircraft flies in formation. Air Force Lt. Gen. Christopher Bogdan, Program Executive Officer, F-35, said he didn’t have a date when the correction would be made. However, he said the problem would not delay the declaration of the Marine variant of the aircraft, the F-35B, ready for combat. “When you have two, three or four F-35s looking at the same threat, they don’t all see it exactly the same because of the angles that...

Air Force leaders wanting to send the A-10 Thunderbolt to the bone yard already have any number of lawmakers criticizing them from Capitol Hill. Now they’ve got “Lone Wolf McQuade” coming after them. Action star Chuck Norris – an Air Force veteran – on Monday delivered an editorial roundhouse kick to the Air Force, arguing on the World Net Daily website that the “Warthog” – as it is known – still has plenty of fight left in it. In the ongoing campaign against ISIS, Norris writes, “the A-10′s utility is warranted even more now than ever.” “Its firepower capability, speed...

Freshly announced presidential candidate Ted Cruz has made news with his claim that he became a fan of country music after rock-and-roll music disappointed him with its response to the Sept. 11 attacks. The MSNBC afternoon program “Now with Alex Wagner” used Cruz’s music comments as the jumping-off point for a discussion among guest host Ari Melber, Joan Walsh, Michael Steele and Jamilah Lemieux. “Nothing says ‘Let’s go kill some Muslims’ like country music,” said Lemieux in kicking off the festivities. The comment came off as something packaged, premeditated. While Walsh and Steele giggled, Melber remained stone-faced, vouching for the...

Those ubiquitous black holes that bend wheel rims, flatten tires and cause vehicle alignments to go out of whack seem to be appearing out of nowhere. “Potholes are indiscriminate,” said Charles Metzger, PennDOT’s community relations coordinator. “They pop up wherever they feel like.” Late winter into early spring is prime pothole season. The days are getting warmer, causing any accumulated snow to melt and water to run into cracks in the roadway. At night, when the temperature drops, the water freezes and pushes up and out, creating a depression in the asphalt. “Traffic drives over it and that’s how a...

  • State Takes Over Arkansas School District That Had To Make Teachers Wear Underwear

    01/30/2015 7:51:33 AM PST · by Doogle · 44 replies
In August 2013, the district announced — to the great dismay of the teachers union — a dress code that would require teachers to wear underwear. Every single day. Female teachers would have to wear bras, too. And the very worst of all: No spandex. (RELATED: Little Rock School District Will Now Make Teachers Wear Underwear) Now, a mere 18 months later, the Arkansas Department of Education has voted to assume control over management of the school district, the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reports.
