This is an ongoing thread – meaning come back to chat, post information, or ask questions any time. Hopefully the thread won’t stagnate and I’ll do better at posting weekly (or bi-weekly) topics than I have in the past. (anyone willing to post a topic now and then we'll be highly praised and appreciated). We are in for some bumpy rides, and prepping can only help. If for peace of mind, if nothing else. We have a wonderful gardening thread and a current-events survival/prepping thread, and hopefully this one can piggyback off of those, maybe having a longer discussion about...

    A friend
I got this email from a friend in Austrailia and wanted to share it with others: Dear Cottonball, I hope things are going ok in your world. I have a very important message, which I feel I need to share with you. From the very beginning, I knew that covid was some sort of hoax and that the so called ‘vaccines’ were dangerous and to be avoided at all costs. However, I did not understand the full extent or the ramifications of what was really going on. That was all until recently when God lifted the veil and revealed to...

This is our ongoing prepper thread, re-invented to be more specific to prepping for, and of course during, pandemics. Where gave you found your preps have withstood this test? What would you like to have done differently? What are your current prepping plans?

I’ve been missing the vast amount of information on prepping, survival, camping, simple cooking, the old ways of doing just about everything – all the things nw_arizona_granny knew so much about and shared with us, along with numerous other posters with a vast array of skills and knowledge. We have our various related-threads here, a recipe thread, a gardening thread, and even a prepper thread. They are all great and I don’t mean to take anything away from those and the hard work their owners put in. But I was missing a place to talk about ALL those things, to...
  • The Weekly Cooking (and related issues) Thread 2/3/17

Today’s recipes are Italian soups! This is in honor of my Nonna (Italian grandmother), who strangely enough, couldn’t cook anything except soup. Her soups were out of this world good. Unfortunately, I never watched her make one to learn her secret. I know she didn’t make her own stock, so that wasn’t the key. She was rather a lazy cook, so I’m guessing it had to do with some Italian ingredients that we can’t get here, or I don’t know about. So these recipes are ones I’ve found and probably modified to suit my tastes. Sorry for the lack of...

Hello fellow cooks! This is Cottonball, your 2nd substitute thread poster for Jamestown1630, along with Yaelle. I decided to indulge in one of my favorite hobbies for this week’s foodie thread - I LOVE making bread. Just like growing plants, making bread for me is an act of love and creation – the little yeasties making the flour and water into something magical always excites me and gives me a feeling of accomplishment. Seeing the dough rise and take shape is like giving birth (without the pain or medical staff). I wasn’t always able to make edible bread – I...

My sweet little Cashmere passed away today. She was only 9 1/2 years old. She had quit eating starting Friday so by Sunday I was panicking and took her to the emergency vet. She had lost quite a bit of weight already, due to polycystic kidney disease. The vet said we could only get maybe another couple weeks with her with treatment at the clinic, so we decided to end her suffering. She has about the sweetest cat I've ever had. Cautious, shy, the undercat among her brother and sister. I always had to protect her and make sure she...
  • Donald Trump to storm convention just shy of delegate threshold for nomination

    The Washington Times ^ | March 9, 2016 | Ralph Z. Hallow
Donald Trump is on track to hand the Republican establishment an unprecedented defeat at the national convention in July, despite being outspent 3-1 by party leaders and their associates in their all-out effort to turn primary and caucus voters against him, according to a state-by-state delegate allocation analysis by The Washington Times. By the time California and three other states count their votes from the last four primaries June 7, the brash billionaire businessman and TV star will be 74 or so delegates short of the 1,237 majority needed for the nomination, the analysis shows. With so large a plurality...
  • Contact People For An Alternative to MSM-Controlled Candidate-Attacking Debates

    10/29/2015 11:35:34 AM PDT · by CottonBall · 35 replies
I wanted to create a thread where we can post email and snail mail addresses to flood correspondence demanding a new debate-style: one devoid of liberal MSM questions that attack and vilify the GOP candidates. One solution is having talk-show hosts as moderators, like Rush, Levine, Ingraham, etch Experts in their field asking questions in that field only could be a better path. The debates have been money-makers, more than ever before. So much so that the cable news channels have attempted to increase the debate time by 50% after raising advertising rates to astronomical levels. So these unplanned debates...
  • Glenn Beck vs. Rush Limbaugh

GOP media strategist Mark McKinnon thinks there are two people in the world who fear Glenn Beck — even if "neither will admit it." The first is Barack Obama. The second is Rush Limbaugh. Beck is on a huge roll. Over the last month, the right-wing Fox News talker has claimed the scalp of the president's green jobs czar; motivated thousands of conservatives to turn out for town hall meetings and a Sept. 12 march on Washington; pummeled Democrats over ACORN and Obama's czars; and landed himself a spot on the cover of Time magazine. "Beck is the man of...
