My mantra today is “I gave you my vote now earn my trust”.

I’d like to see more of this type of activity in the lead up to 2016.

Perhaps I’m just denser than usual because of the Christmas season rush but how does this happen in Texas? Isn’t that supposed to be a fairly rationale state?

And I’m not being sarcastic….what am I missing?

Actually, I think Detroit is worse (and I live in the suburbs of Detroit with frequent visits to many different areas of the city proper).

In the third world, if you presented many of the so-called less fortunate citizens with the same type of resources that taxpayers provide, I would imagine they would be smart enough to take advantage of a “free” education system and grow up to be productive individuals who actually WANT to work and provide for their families.

Detroit is really about 10 levels below “third-world” in my opinion...total disregard for life, unable to raise their own children (don’t even get me going on the use of welfare as a birth non-control method) and moved so far along on the road to total progressive/socialist/communist mantra of entitlement...

Perhaps we should have literacy AND proof-of-citizenship requirements to vote?

Absolutely hilarious — and I work in the auto industry (yeah, yeah, I know :( Never understood the Range Rover & Mini buyers - - those both are rated so incredibly low in reliability....

One anecdotal story...I was talking with an older couple trying to sell their cottage right near Lake Michigan. They hadn’t gotten quite the right offer yet...they indicated that most offers are contingent on financing. One “young” couple driving a BMW 3-Series was trying to finance 95% of the cottage!!! Am sure the car was leased as well...wow.

PS - My first car was a Subaru station wagon - - it was the only thing with AWD in the early ‘80’s that could handle brutal W. Michigan snow... But I got laughed at a bit as I swear I was the only 20-something in Scooby.

Loved his speech and overall message but I think the real hero is his mother!!

Perhaps all those on public assistance should have to read 2 books per week and not have access to TV :)

Being a single mother alone isn’t a problem but being one that doesn’t teach their children love, self-respect, independence and compassion is a huge problem in the US (urban, rural, and suburban).

Anyone remember when parents used to be role-models? If not one one or both of your but your best friends or a neighbor?

Going Galt. Family stopped exchanging Xmas gifts years ago (we play games and build up a “pot”...winnings go to a selected conservative charity).

Sold home months ago to move to Detroit for job (had to...didn’t want to...hate it here)...enjoying renting actually. But keeping family cottage for retreat and stocking it well. Making plans with family in case of several scenarios. Just finishing paying daughter’s college education so neither of us has debt from that :)

Trying to enjoy the little things and learning all about prepping....didn’t start in new company’s 401k...am paying off remainder of debt first..want to be able to move on moment’s notice.
