  • TEXAS CLERK FACES GRAND JURY FOR DEFENDING THE PLEDGE, POSSIBLE JAIL TIME AND REMOVAL FROM OFFICE

We live in the county just south of Bowie County, TX. We personally know Natalie. I’m afraid this is true, but it’s not right. The prayer and the pledge are said in every meeting and by law anything that is spoken inside of the meetings have to be in the official written record. If they don’t want to have it in the minutes, then they need to stop saying the pledge and stop praying at the opening of court. She’s doing the right thing in fighting this.

Keep her and her family in your prayers.

I watched this last night. I have no doubt that is what it is. I showed it to my dad today who is a retired pastor and he agreed too. Take a look and see what you think!

It is also interesting that Straus refused to answer questions on the VoteSmart.org “Political Courage Test” - http://www.votesmart.org/npat.php?can_id=49917

He was asked repeatedly by Vote Smart, national media, and prominent political leaders.

He got to be Speaker in the last session when the Republicans only had a 3-seat majority. The Texas House, stupidly allows the minority party to cast votes for Speaker, so he got a bunch of Democrat votes.

Now that the Conservatives have such a LARGE majority, we’re all working to see he’s ousted.

Ladies and Gentlemen, for all of you who prayed and are still praying, and making phone calls/sending emails, thank you. We just received this update from West Tawakoni, TX.

“Today was Big. Fox 33 came out and interviewed Bill our leader plus another member. Also interviewed the mayor who just decided on his own to hire another city attorney? That guy must be brilliant. Also the East Texas Alliance is coming out with their lead council who wanted us to know “pro bono” attorneys for everyone !!! Keep an eye on our site. I am absolutely sure all the praying has a lot to do with the way things are going. All the rest of the thanks goes to people like you that are not afraid of simply standing for Truth and Justice. God Bless both of you. I am going to get a good nights rest tonight as the park is going to be full of Bikers, Cops, Tea Parties and News Crews !!!———Mike Adams, Lake Tawakoni Area Tea Party”

Bump. Come on guys, let’s make this go viral, so to speak. Everyone needs to hear about this. It really is not good.

There is more to it. The police chief has been fired, a police sergeant has been fired, the police chaplain has been fired, and the mayor is trying to fire one of the city councilmen too. The city attorney has also been fired.

Also, in order for a police chief or any one on the police force to be fired, it has to come across the desk of the DA, but it never crossed the desk of the DA and he didn’t hear about the firings from official channels. He found out about it from outside sources.

The kids of the town are scared to death. They see something wrong is going on, but don’t know exactly what.

Look, the bottom line is that if every REAL conservative would have gone ahead and voted Republican, there would still be a Republican majority in the House and Senate. Now there's not, and considering Rumsfeld is already thrown under the bus, it is doubtful that Bush is going to have the testicles to veto every liberal piece of legislation that comes across his desk. On top of that, we are not going to get a true constructionist justice to replace Stephens in the next year. A weak Republican Congress is frustrating and NO conservative has liked it the past 8 years, but it's been a heck of a lot better than what we have now with Commisar of the House Pelosi.

If you can argue with that, then I just don't know what to say because I haven't talked to ANY conservative who disagrees with that. Even ones like myself and my husband who have been frustrated by the weak Republican majority the past few years. There's weak and there's liberal. A bunch of stupid conservatives just traded in weak for liberal.

In addition to that, Bush is now the most neutered, lame duck President in decades at a time of war and just a hundred thousand more votes in three states would have significantly changed that and kept it from even happening, but it's too late now and it's going to be a long two years. If the Republicans nationally in the GOP don't get their act together, this new Democrat Congress will span decades and not months. That's just reality, no matter what you think. The only way this Democrat Congress is going to be a majority for the short term is if the GOP and those in charge of it quit behaving as though Conservative is a dirty word and start running like conservatives instead of constantly pandering to a bunch of gutless moderates and independents who mostly vote Democrat anyway. This is three days old now. The election is over. I don't know about you, but we're looking ahead to 08 and trying to decide who the next CONSERVATIVE Republican will be to take the White House, since it won't be Allen, thanks to the horrible Virginia voters who put him out, because right now a bunch of socalled true Conservatives are clammering for a McCain or Guilliani in O8 and that is not what this country needs for four to eight years.

That's all I have to say. Keep talking to yourself if you want to.

Also, The nitpick I was referring to had nothing to do with any of your posts so why respond to that part by saying something snotty like "gee, thanks for the clarification on that nit pick."

I also never said that we should have only 2 parties. I said there are only two MAJOR parties. The Communist party is also a 3rd party. Would you want extreme liberal Democrats to decide the Democrat party is not liberal enough and swing the elections enough to put in the US Communist Party?? Not every 3rd party is a good thing which is why most of them eventually die off and none of the original 3rd parties exist anymore.

I also said they either did NOT vote OR voted 3rd party. I never said it was one or the other. There were hundreds of thousands of voters who typically vote Republican who this time voted Libertarian, voted for some of these socalled conservative Democrats who will vote with the Democrat party so Pelosi doesn't turn them out in 2 years, or did not vote at all. That was enough to cost Allen, Talent, Burns, and Dewine their Senate seats; not to mention at least a dozen House members in the same states, in addition to Indiana and New York.

Boy, is that all you can find to nitpick. Last time I checked who're was a word in the dictionary, and it is a legal contraction for the phrase "who are." In formal writing and speaking you are supposed to avoid contractions, but this is not formal writing. This is my vanity thread. So I believe that I can title it as I please. If you notice the time stamp, I also posted that thing after 2:00 AM.

This is the last I will say about this matter. May I please remind you to stay on topic or I will report you.

I'm not sure if anyone replied to your post or not, but I thought I would reply just in case. Yeah, the cut-and-runners did cost us some seats.

We all need to get ready to say "Good evening House Majority Leader Pelosi"

Exactly what do you mean by that? Yeah, my screen name actually does mirror reality. I am a Conservative. I am one semester away from graduating with a Bachelor of Science in History and a minor in Political Science. I am over halfway to my Master's. I start teaching next year. I am also in the process of being published in a First Amendment Law book that I co-wrote with one of my professors.

I am also going to school using 100% FPELL and State Grants to make up the difference. I have gotten increasingly more money even though tuition and my income has remained the same and that has been thanks to a GOP-led House and Senate. What's gonna happen to mine and other students' financial aid come January when the liberal Dems take over?

True, the GOP didn't do everything it should have. Yeah, the GOP also lost it. I don't deny that.

However, what's more stupid is voting for someone you know cannot possibly win and in effect destroy everything positive that has happened in the country.

In all of this has anyone thought about the men and women who are over in Iraq, Afghanistan, and other areas right now who have just been getting the news today that the Dems regained the House and Senate and have a new Defense Secretary in the middle of a war. I have friends and family over there and this has bombed their morale. My father-in-law said it feels like Nam all over again.

Wake up everyone! The Conservatives who decided they wanted "change" put in office the people who consider our soldiers to be baby killers, rapists, and murderers and would be happy if they were brought up on war crimes charges.

Looks to me like Kerry is getting his wish and what he said is true. Do the majority of the American people feel that way?

Oh yeah, maybe my post will be made real-time this time. Like a later post, this has been incorrectly termed a Democracy for years. We live in a Constitutional Republic. That stems back to the Federalists and Anti-Federalists. The Anti-Federalists felt that the public should have 100% say in everything whereas the Federalists felt that there needed to be checks and balances in order to avoid factions (parties).

In order for this to be a Democracy, we should have NO Legislative branch of any kind. With all the bickering, how well do you think that would work at getting anything done??

From the time that political parties began there have almost always been two major parties (with some minor ones mixed in). They've changed names and political stances, but there have almost always been two major parties. In order to win a majority more people have to vote for one party over the others.

Even today there are still 3, 4, and 5 parties seen on a ballot but only 2 of them (Reps and Dems) have any chance of winning. When the libertarians have more in common with the Reps than not, why vote for a third party? If they want their vote to actually matter and count for something then they need to vote for the candidate that actually has a chance of winning. I can say that because my parents voted for Perot when he was running for President in 92. They didn't like that Bush had raised the taxes even though he had said "Read my lips. No new taxes." They ended up regretting their decision when their former governor Clinton won and had to be endured. Needless to say, they voted for Dole in 96.

It just doesn't pay to vote for the third party.

But why vote for this kind of change? My major is in history and my minor is Political Science. What I get from this is a lot of people voting to have a wet diaper replaced with a stinky crap filled one. Yeah, that's some kind of change!!

I don't know why social and fiscal conservatives felt pushed away en masse. I and my husband and a majority of the people at our poll watching party feel the same way. We are both about as conservative as they come. I haven't agreed with the Republican party on everything but I've never once felt a twinge of stupidity to not vote or vote for a third party. We live on my husband's SSD and food stamps while I finish up school. The last thing we need is the Dems raising our taxes and everything else.
