  • Girl, 7, Fatally Struck By Vehicle At Indoor Car Show

Just saw tape of it on our local news. To call it a “car show” is pretty generous. It was really just a bunch of guys in a warehouse bouncing their ghetto rides. The crowd was like 4 inches from the car, so it’s not a shock that it hit something that fell on the girl.

  • What if the "limited strike" is a failure?

What if a limited strike fails? I asked myself that same question the second he mentioned that strategy. As if they will just sit back and take their punishment.

I’m assuming when the inevitable retaliation comes, oBOMBa will:
    a) Call them racists
    b) Blame Bush

Wish he had the same drive to punish violent people in Chicago, Detroit, New Orleans, and George Zimmerman’s neighborhood as he does violent people in countries on the other side of the planet.

Uh, how about not dropping out of high school at alarming rates? That’d be a good start.

  • Day 24 (Week #5) Zimmerman Trial – Final Day – Probably a Verdict before dinner [No, Jury Adjourned]

My only jury experience shared a lot with this case. It wasn’t murder but it was a case that should have never gone to trial. The prosecution had nothing but a bunch of theories.

The jury instructions (at least here in Cali) are very clear - you do not vote until you have deliberated. If you walk into that jury room with your mind already made up, you are in violation of the instructions. Of course, everyone already has their minds made up. But you don’t want to walk into the jury room and proclaim, “Well, THAT was a colossal waste of time!” like you want to, you have to systematically go thru the evidence.

If you don’t, you risk getting thrown off the jury. Or, in a high-profile case like this one, getting called out by the others in the media. No one wants to be “that guy.” So you go thru the motions.

When we finally got around to actually voting, there were 2 holdouts. A slam dunk case, and there were still 2 people who could not connect the freaking dots! We spent 3 days beating them up until they finally saw the light (or caved in).

This one could easily take a week before a verdict.

Trayvon’s OWN FATHER went to bed! He came home FOUR HOURS after TM left to go a mile up the road...but yet dad wasn’t alarmed....

If my kid was on suspension from school he not only would not be allowed to go outside (much less be allowed to go to 7-11 at night), he wouldn’t be allowed to have a cell phone (much less be allowed to talk to an illiterate manatee for 12 hours).

I’m pretty sure that “suspect” comment several pages back was sarcasm.

OMG thanks to everyone here for cracking me up even more than that “star witness” did today.

One thing I haven’t heard anyone pick up on is that tubby said she didn’t worry about TM too much after the phone died because she thought it was just a fight. I don’t know about you, but if one of my friends was in a fight and I couldn’t get a hold of him, I’d drive over to his house to check on him. Was fighting that ordinary to TM that it was it was no big deal to her?

I would think the prosecution would jump on that. Shows a lot more intent to harm than anything GZ has said.

And what’s the big deal about GZ telling the police - in older 911 calls - that a suspect is black? If they are indeed black, what else is he supposed to call them? If they aren’t black, what’s the point of describing someone he wants caught as something they are not?

Prosecution is trying to make describing someone seem bad. Just like the OJ trial made “rush to judgement” seem bad, even tho all signs pointed to one person.
