  • KY Lt. Governor Candidate Questions Bush'S Ulterior Motives for War

    03/19/2003 2:09:20 PM PST · by Bluegrass Federalist · 14 replies · 127+ views
I heard this morning that gubernatorial candidate Lunsford (rich Democrat from Louisville self-financing his campaign) and his running mate Barbara Edelman (Lexington lawyer) were on Dave Baker's radio show in Lexington on WLAP. When asked if they agreed with the Democrats' criticisms of President Bush, Barbara Edelman allegedly said that she questioned President Bush's motives, saying that we are going to war not for the stated reasons of disarming Iraq, but for "ulterior motives" held by President Bush. Baker apparently had to ask people to stop calling and emailing to complain, due to an overflo of outrage. Did anyone hear...
  • Foreign Policy: Why Defend Those Who Don't Want Us?

In reading an article posted today on Foxnews.com, I read more about the growing problems with North Korea. While the South Koreans quoted in the article stopped short of this, I have heard comments from their new leader in the past weeks that are highly critical of the U.S., our foreign policy, and most interestingly, our presence there. This follows the German election in which the candidates raced to be the most critical of American foreign policy. You remember Germany, the nation we liberated from Hitler, rebuilt under the Marshall Plan, saved from starvation during the Berlin airlift, protected from...
  • Poll Being counter-FReeped by DU (Poll being DUmbed)

    12/06/2002 6:15:22 AM PST · by Bluegrass Federalist · 9 replies · 140+ views
Looks like the morons at DU are DUmbing another poll at MRC, this time on whether the NYT has censored the Augusta issue. I say we let them do it, although I did vote. Apparently, they don't realize who reads MRC. I hope they are rally riledup to fix the poll, having some candlelight vigils and all. Absolutley no one will ever see that who would fall for it.
  • FREEP This Poll on Gore's Media Bias Claims

    12/03/2002 7:10:19 AM PST · by Bluegrass Federalist · 9 replies · 11+ views
It looks like someone has counter-freeped this MRC poll on whether Gore was right about the media getting their orders from the GOP. Go set things right!
  • Monumental Changes in SCOTUS - 4 Bush Appointments?

    11/10/2002 8:56:18 AM PST · by Bluegrass Federalist · 39 replies · 197+ views
This being the first time since FDR that the GOP has controlled the White House and both houses of Congress, it occured to me that we are overlooking another possibility. Without referring to my copy of the Constitution, memory serves that Bush could possibly, albeit with difficulty, increase the number of Justices sitting on the Court. SCOTUS could be increased to 11, justices, and Bush could immediately appoint2 to open seats. Then retirees seats could be filled. That would reverse the FDR court-packing, and give conservatives a solid majority on the SC for decades. It is hard to even imagine...
  • Can we expect any defections to the GOP?

    11/06/2002 3:41:55 AM PST · by Bluegrass Federalist · 22 replies · 228+ views
Can we expect any other Dems, like Breaux or Zell Miller, to jump ship to the GOP now that the majority is secure? I would imagine that they will not want their states to suffer like NY, NJ, W.Va., and especially Vermont are going to in the pork department. It will be interesting to watch, but what do you guys expect? Since we are Chafee-proof (and if we get SD, McCainiac-proof, too), it looks like the shoe is on the other foot.
