Its telling how many protesters, both black and white, were interviewed live during ongoing displays of lawless rioting/looting by news
crews in cities around the country by being pitched softballs from the journalists
asking them what their personal actions and thoughts were/are about the
protests aka riots. To a man/woman the responses went something like this:
Im here to protest how the police murdered George Floyd. Im
here for justice. Im here because its time the police stop killing black
men. And on and on.
Whats disturbing is that when the reporters specifically
asked these good, peaceful souls what they thought of the rioting, looting and
burning the responses were an amalgam of eye rolls, shoulder shrugs, and
comments like: It is what it is. This is what happens. “Oh well
Not one
person interviewed would condemn the violence or even utter a noncommittal
expression that it was unfortunate.
One gets the distinct impression that if these people werent
on camera their responses would have been expressions of approval if not
outright delight at the unfolding mayhem and destruction. Their only
expressions of regret would have been that they arrived too late and that all
the good swag was already taken.
Gutless journalists on every news outlet lead into this
ongoing story by rehashing how awful George Floyds killing was (Yes, it was
awful) before timidly broaching the elephant in the room- The ubiquitous
violence and lawlessness of these thugs. Yes, thugs. Wake up, America! Two
wrongs have never made a right and these communities will take generations to
heal from these riots.
The officers involved will surely be punished severely
and our elected officials at all levels on both sides of the aisle will go through
their perfunctory public kabuki over this for a long time to come. What should
worry us now is not what will happen in the short term, but how this plays out
in the years to come. Is law enforcement destined to become the legislatively
neutered whipping boy of gutless, pandering politicians, Hollywood hacks and journalists?
If it turns out to be the case that there emerges a de facto protected class,
immune from any real punishment for this newly politically correct type of
crime we will have no recourse but to do for ourselves what the police are no
longer able to do- protect life, limb and property from destruction at the hands of these thugs.
We will follow in the footsteps of the patriots who came before us almost 250 years ago and take up arms in our own defense.
The balls in your court, Democrats. Keep your side of the street clean, because if your garbage spills over to our side you wont like how this ends.
