  • Why Iran freed captured British sailors, marines

I am actually quite disgusted by this whole situation. Not only by the British Navy for not watching over their sailors and Marines while they inspected, but at the behavior of those that were captured. Confessing to crimes they didn’t commit. Laughing and joking, giving each other “noogies.” And to top it all off, shaking the hand of that man and thanking him and the Iranian people. What a slap in the face to all Iranians living in despair.

They should all be discharged, and it should be dishonorable. I have worked with Marines in the Anbar province and I don’t believe that a single one of them could have been forced to say any of those things. The “Queens Navy” needs a make over in discipline and honor. The French and British must have had training exercises together before this encounter. I have no other way to explain it...

I went to the link, and all I can say is.... What? I find it rather sad, yet at the same time amusing that there are people that actually go online and brag about doing these kinds of things. I threw rocks and slit tires, therefore I am opposing the big bad government. Oh, sorry, they also put glue in the locks. Someone call Zarqawi, er, Chavez and let him know how to defeat the great satan!

I believe the point he is making is that Hip Hop is extremely negative because it portrays the black culture quite disgustingly. Get rich by rapping about shooting cops. The life of screwing ho's and smoking blunts. Why do you think Bill Cosby is disregarded by many in the black community? Because he puts it out there. We get no where in life by blaming all of our problems on "the man." We hate what the man does for us, yet we complain that he doesn't do enough. "The man" does not hold us back, we only hold ourselves back by refusing to take responsibility for ourselves.

You can claim that it is the truth all across the cultural spectrum, but I beg to differ. I am not going to have this conversation because I do not need the race card pulled out, but look at the statistics before you make such bold statements.

So cynical. Just because you know more men that don't emulate tarditional values does not mean it's the norm either. I suppose it's time to start watching the company we keep. If we surround ourselves with fools, then I suppose we will look at everyone as if they were one.

Pop culture is it's own thing. Like a sick fad that most people grow out of eventually.

"EVRY man under 35 thinks they are still 18 and ACT like it. From idiotic sports fixations, to childish hobbies, to ridiculous hair cuts, to jeans worn EVERYWHERE, to NOT getting married and having a family, to getting married... and divorced a half dozen times."

Where do you get the need to generalize and stereotype? Sounds to me like someone has some anger inside about something that needs to be expressed. Get it all out there and maybe you will sleep a bit better at night.

"Men are raised to be punk kids..."

Where are you from? I am from Kentucky, and my father is a minister, and I certainly wasn't raised to be a "punk kid." I speak on behalf of many that I call friends as well. Maybe women are so fed up with the jerks that they feel this sudden urge to throw us all into the same pot, but that is how we end up hurt. We automatically assume and judge everyone based on our past experiences and it's not fair to that to ourselves. One can never be happy with such a mentality.

I heard a great quote yesterday, "Walk like a god, and your goddess will come to you." Many people want to force the hand, but the best things happen to us not when we are looking for it, but when we are just walking through life, and it just happens.

Very true. Blaming Israel and the US has become cliche. Never mind the fact that this cult wants us and everything we stand for destroyed. That isn't even worthy of a footnote.

I believe the French actually stated that they will NOT disarm Hezbollah, adn they will not put the thousands of troops they promised there until their safety is guaranteed. Sad.

What's the difference between 10 Frnech soldiers and 10,000? Less POW's.

You hit it right on the head. The "Sex and the City" life of being independently wealthy, sipping martinis all day in one of the most expensive cities in the world while talking about men and "relationships." I find it funny that we sometimes long for things that are virtually impossible to have. The grass is always greener I suppose....

This is odd. I had no idea that you could enter the US by showing a Drivers License or Birth Certificate. Can you actually get out of the US without one? This baffles me, because everytime I come back to the states, we are required to have our passports out and ready. Strange indeed...

140,000 troops in Iraq bravely fighting terrorists face to face day after day.

60,000 troops in Afghanistan doing the same.

Leading the charge against Iran until all diplomatic options have been exhausted.

Vetoed a UN vote on Israel regarding the war and continued to stand by our ally.

Yes, you are so right, shame on us.

Thank You! hit it right on the head!

Half the folks on this site blame bash Bush and Condi for anything bad concerning Israel. It gets rather annoying. The US is one country, yes a very powerful one, but Israel was taking fire from many MANY sides concerning this matter.

They did not surrender, simply halted air raids for 48 hours. Believe me when I say, they will be watching. I personally believe Hezbollah set this house up to get bombed. And of course, the media ate it all up!

Please stop! I haven't laughed this hard in a long time! Iran would be extremely foolish to enter Iraq. Even if they shoot a few well targeted missiles, the American might would come down hard on Iran. I do not understand why Iran has not learned from watching Iraq fall in 2 weeks, but if they are foolish enough to ask for it, they will get it. Plain and simple. There will be no restraint shown.

I definately agree with most of what you are saying, but if the war spreads to all four countries, they must be occupied so a government can take shape. I know Israel could easily succeed in an air campaign, but the point I am trying to make is do they have the power to occupy all 4 countries for an extended period of time, and hold back militias and terrorists? That is the million dollar question.

I do agree Israel could wip out Iran, but once again, America would feel threatened with troops across the border. I certainly cannot see Israel using a nuclear weapon with our troops a country away either. I am not saying they would be in grave danger, btu I do believe the American military would step in before they let a nuclear weapon get fired. I would go as far as to say America would bomb Israel before they let them fire a nuclear weapon. But it is pointless to argue, because it would never happen.

Your final statement is a bit rough and unrealistic. Wars are not fought the way the German SS fought them 60+ years ago. If they were, Iraq could be the 51st state right now. This campaign will continue but we will prevail. Any victory for Israel or America is a victory for all of mankind.

I'm sorry, but I do not agree with you. If Iran gets involved, that puts American forces in danger in Iraq. If you can actually sit there and think the American government will let the safety of our troops rest in the hands of the Israeli military, you are gravely mistaken.

Most people on this site has this idea that America keeps this leash tight on Israel. I would like for once to see that backed up. I believe America does want this to spill over into Iran and Syria so they can deal with the situation once and for all. Bush will do what he believes is right, and I believe this will be an all out war.

WWIII? That started decades ago my friend. It has boiled over now and unless the problem is dealt with, this problem will continue to go on and on.

Another question, you honestly believe Israel has the power to invade Iran, Syria, Lebanon, AND Palestine? Give me a break. Iran is a HUGE country. I have nothing against Israel, but my pride and confidence in the American military is far more than what I have for the Israeli military.

As another post stated earlier, I refuse to believe the American military would send troops in and then take orders from the Israeli military. I believe Israel would welcome with open arms a joint operation against Lebanon, Syria, and Iran if America offered. They would gladly step aside and let America deal with it. But I do not see that happening.

Personally, I believe the Brits could pound the hell out of Lebanon, Iran, and Syria. they could easily defeat all three countries.

But I know they would never step up to the challenge. America would handle the dirty work because we are just so good at it (see invasion of Iraq for more info).
