President Trump hosted a number of Republican and Democratic House lawmakers at the White House Wednesday to negotiate over border security and end the ongoing government shut down. “The President and his team had a constructive meeting with bipartisan members of the problem solvers caucus. They listened to one another and now both have a good understanding of what the other wants. We look forward to more conversations like this,†Press Secretary Sarah Sanders said about the meeting. These House Democrats in the centrist Problem Solvers Caucus met today with @realDonaldTrump in the Situation Room to discuss the shutdown: Josh...

As an attorney experienced working with public policy litigation, here is a practical plan for how Trump can keep the legal dispute entirely within the Fifth Circuit and out of the Ninth Circuit. First, President Trump should get on Air Force One and fly to Texas to meet with Republicans opposed to illegal immigration Governor Greg Abbott, Senator Ted Cruz, and leaders of the Texas legislature. Second, Governor Abbott should formally request the Texas legislature to issue an application for the federal government to defend the Texas border with Mexico. Section 4, Article 4 of the United States Constitution commands...

LORDSBURG, N.M. — Ranchers and farmers near the U.S.-Mexico border have been finding prayer rugs on their properties in recent months, according to one rancher who asked to remain anonymous for fear of retaliation by human smugglers. The mats are pieces of carpet that those of the Muslim faith kneel on as they worship during their unauthorized trek into and through the United States. "There’s a lot of people coming in not just from Mexico," the rancher said. "People, the general public, just don’t get the terrorist threats of that. That’s what’s really scary. You don’t know what’s coming across....

President Trump hosted a border security meeting at the White House Tuesday afternoon. In an effort to make progress on the government shutdown, Trump invited Republican and Democrat lawmakers to attend with ideas. Not a single Democrat showed up. Their leaders, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, were also missing. “As Senator Schumer and Speaker Pelosi refuse to negotiate, President Donald J. Trump and his team are working hard to find solutions to solve the humanitarian and national security crisis at the border and reopen the government. The President has a proposal on the table...

The US military will be extending its security support mission at the southern border with Mexico through the end of September, according to officials. Acting Defense Secretary Patrick Shanahan authorized the extension on Monday after receiving a request from the Department of Homeland Security. The border deployment was first ordered back in October by President Trump and initially slated to end...

Steve Guest Twitter Video at link. House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-MD) faced some tougher talk from media hosts, for once, regarding the government shutdown that has lasted 20+ days now. President Trump promised border security during the 2016 campaign. He promised to build a wall. He has to follow through on it. It was one of his signature issues. He’s only asking $5 billion for part of his wall. The Democrats are not willing to play ball after reclaiming the House. Last week, Trump offered to re-open the government in exchange for some of the funding. Democrats rejected...

It seems Democrats will starve children—even children of fellow Democrats—in order to keep an unsecured border in place, hence ensuring a more dangerous nation. This is being proven this very minute and the facts are indisputable. But think on it for half a second. Ask yourself the question, “What happens if either side gives in on the current border security vs. open-the-government stand off?” It’s a reasonable question to ask. We are now into the longest, most protracted government shutdown of the modern era and talk radio, social media, & cable news are playing out the debate in increasingly strident contrast....

California welcomed a new governor this week – Gavin Newsom. Newsom has set as priorities that anyone in the state would be provided health care at no cost and that the state will remain a sanctuary state. Is there any wonder that the caravans from Central America that were supposedly coming here for humanitarian reasons diverted the path of the caravan from going to Texas and added over 500 miles to their trek to arrive at the border of California? Another year has gone by and yet there has been zero progress on confronting our dysfunctional immigration policies. Our government...

Full title: Migrants from Terrorist Nations Try to Enter U.S. Via Mexico at Record Rates—300% Hike in Bangladeshis in Texas Alone Federal agents along the southern border routinely encounter individuals from terrorist nations and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) considers them one of the top threats to the United States, according to a congressional report made public this month. Titled “Stopping Terrorist Travel Through Illicit Pathways to the Homeland,” the document outlines the findings of a lengthy investigation involving Special Interest Aliens (SIA) by the House Homeland Security Committee. SIA’s are individuals from countries outside the western hemisphere—mostly the...

The video is from McAllen, Texas -- just like Jim Accost Her's dateline, where he claimed there was no problem at the border at all. Strangely enough, illegal immigrants choose to illegally cross the border in the parts of McAllen where there's not a fence instead of the places where there is one. Go figure! He notes that CNN just doesn't seem interested in reporting the actual facts about the border. CNN just wants to do Trump Dunk bullshit for ratings and partisan cheerleading.

"Fox & Friends" co-host Brian Kilmeade warned President Trump Thursday morning not to declare a national emergency to build a border wall without getting congressional approval, arguing it would set "a terrible precedent." "It would be a disaster in the big picture and it would show us being inept and unable to govern around the world," Kilmeade said. "It would set a terrible precedent." “The next president, if it is a liberal president, will say a state of emergency will be climate change," he added. "Look at what happened with [Hurricane] Sandy, look at what happened with the earthquake, look...

Republican Senator Lindsey Graham said on Thursday that President Donald Trump should declare a national emergency and bypass Congress to fund a wall on the U.S. border with Mexico. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's "refusal to negotiate on funding for a border wall/barrier - even if the government were to be reopened - virtually ends the congressional path to funding for a border wall/barrier," Graham said in a statement. "It is time for President Trump to use emergency powers to fund the construction of a border wall/barrier," he said.

In the long run, history will validate Donald Trump's stand on a border wall to defend the sovereignty and security of the United States. Why? Because mass migration from the global South, not climate change, is the real existential crisis of the West. The American people know this, and even the elites sense it. Think not? Well, check out the leading liberal newspapers Thursday. The Washington Post and The New York Times each had two front-page stories about the president's battle with Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer on funding the border wall. Inside the first section, the Post had...

The Democrats are no more serious about border security today than they were when they falsely promised Ronald Reagan in 1986 that they'd secure the border in exchange for amnesty for some 3 million illegal immigrants. Democrats are experts at seducing Republicans into abandoning their principled commitments. Over and over again, in contentious political skirmishes, Republicans relent in good faith -- after accepting the Democrats' promise to deliver on their side of the bargain in the future -- and immediately deliver their side. But that future never comes. In legal parlance, this is fraud in the inducement. In his notorious...

Tweets and video at link. Sarah Huckabee Sanders and CNN correspondent Jim Acosta sparred on social media on Thursday after the White House press secretary thanked Acosta for bolstering the Trump administration's argument for a border wall. Acosta posted images from the border near McAllen, Texas, of a steel-slat barrier, chain-link fence and razor-wire, and reported there was "no sign of the national emergency that the president's been talking about." His tweet came as President Trump visited the area to drum up support for his proposed wall along the U.S.-Mexico border amid an ongoing government shutdown. "When I went with...

Mexico City -- Mexican authorities said Thursday that 21 bodies, some burned, have been found in the northern Mexico border state of Tamaulipas in what appears to have been a clash between drug gangs. The bodies were found near the remains of seven burned-out vehicles near the border town of Miguel Aleman.
