If ever a single day of fundraising could make or break a candidate’s campaign, it’s this guy this year against this field.Team Beto knew it too. On Thursday morning, when he formally announced his candidacy, his campaign sent an email to supporters declaring, “What we raise in the first 24 hours will set the tone in the national conversation about the viability of our campaign.†That’s correct. If anything could instantly erase doubts about O’Rourke’s viability, a bombshell first-day number could. “The Senate campaign wasn’t a fluke,†people would say. “Those donors didn’t shower him with cash because they...

RUSH: The hot-to-trot news of the day. Beto O’Rourke, Robert “Beto†O’Rourke, after saying he wasn’t gonna run for the presidency, today went to Iowa and flailed around with his arms gesticulating, wildly claiming he is gonna run. He’s got the craziest agenda. I hope these people keep talking. Every time these Democrats open their mouths, they are creating more Trump voters. Do not doubt me on this, folks. Do not doubt me. Beto O'Rourke all but announced his 2020 presidential candidacy in a wide-ranging interview published Wednesday in Vanity Fair magazine, confidently saying he was "just born to do this" -- a move that would contradict his multiple previous assurances that he would not seek the White House, and further crowd a Democratic primary field already chock-full of progressive candidates. The move seemed inevitable Wednesday night. KTSM reported it received a text message from O'Rourke earlier in the day saying he will seek the Democratic presidential nomination, writing: "I'm really proud of what El Paso did and what El Paso represents. It's...

Beto O’Rourke and his advisers are sending strong signals that he’s on the brink of announcing a run for president, a move that would conclude a months-long period of public and private introspection and alter the complexion of the crowded 2020 Democratic primary field. O’Rourke’s possible candidacy has been one of the most widely anticipated, following the enthusiasm he generated in a failed run for U.S. Senate from Texas, to the frustration of other hopefuls in a formidable field who note that he’s a former three-term congressman who lost his only attempt to win statewide office. By design or accident,...

Well, the contest is over, folks. The New York Times has made its selection for president for 2020, and all those Democrats out there can pack it up. Sorry, Beto. Too bad, Joe. Bye-bye, Bernie. The winner is...Kamala Harris! That's how goofy things have become, what with the paper of record tipping its choice even before any of the debates is out or any of the Democratic candidates (you know it's going to be a Democrat they endorse) has made his case to voters. The buildup is on. Blogger Ann Althouse (hat tip: Instapundit) has gotten a load of the Times' latest Kamala-love headline (which I noticed,...

AUSTIN, Texas — Rep. Beto O’Rourke and four other Democratic members of Congress toured a remote tent city in West Texas on Saturday where they said that 2,700 immigrant teens are being held at a cost of roughly $1 million per day. The lawmakers urged the nonprofit running the facility not to renew a federal contract that expires Dec. 31, a longshot request that could effectively shutter the camp. It was supposed to be temporary but has instead taken in more children and taken on a permanent feel with soccer fields, a dining facility and tents housing separate sleeping quarters...

Let's cut the crap. These women only have to listen to these guys for a few minutes. Next thing you know they're ready to take their pants off. It worked with B.J. and Hussein. Doesn't matter to them if they end up like Mary Jo or Kathleen Wiley-remember her? Beto stepped up to be the next one. Are all women this way? The answer is no. It only takes a few and the election is lost. This is what we are up against. John Edwards must be fuming somewhere.

This Speedy Max Texaco quick stop in Elgin, Texas has allowed someone to put a very large "Beto" sign in front of it's store. Not sure that is good idea. Why would you want to alienate a LOT of your customers in Texas with that?
