Thank you AntiJen! I am honored to be included in your ping.

Visited a small Veteran's museum in Katy, Texas today. The gentleman running the place was a WWII veteran and took the time to explain to us the history of The Purple Heart. Tiny little museum, but packed, and with good displays. Very proud history of servicemen in Katy. We have very active VFAs here in this part of Texas. Thank God for our servicemen!!!!

Also spent the evening watching Black Hawk Down (finally). Am shaking with anger. I am in little danger of running across a UN puke, but if I did...%^$#%$@%!^$&*%&$^!!!! And Clinton....and Hildebeast...and Al Gore...

GOD BLESS OUR AMERICAN SOLDIERS! GOD BLESS THE USA!

Hi there!! I wish everyone was as enthusiastic and appreciative of my pings as you are! hahahaha

I sure enjoy veteran's museums and especially the stories told by people who served long ago.

By all means, do leave me on the ping list! I am afraid I am about three degrees in every direction away from a Fightin' Man/Woman, but that doesnt mean I ain't rootin' for 'em!

Thanks once again!

Thanks for the encouragement.

Something to think about: If the sight of protesters prompt one woman to change her mind and drive past the clinic, that would be a life saved. A protester would probably never know it, but the very real good would be done.

Thanks again,
-- Joe

When I came back from Nam, beer that hadn't been in the hold of a ship for a while, sat out in the sun on a pallet for a few months, and OH YA was called Pabst Blue Ribbon, didn't taste right for a while.

Preventive maintenence Checks and.. aww he.. can't remember the s.
That's what happens when you acronym crap to death and speak in acronyms...
Go defend the BOC! (Boc vehicle had radio gear in it and was our mainline back to range control and Headquarters. Not that we needed it. No, never bothered to figure out what BOC stood for, as advance party it didn't matter if I knew that or not.)
But FDC was fire direction control. Or "F da chief" in my unit.

Go -HERE- and read the collected comments I have saved from the D.U.h members as they go on and on about how they HATE the military!

I live in Fayetteville, next to Ft.Bragg, and truely wish they would come here and have a big anti-war rally & talk smack about how stupid they think the people who are in the military are...

Well... at fort Sill it was A and elbows to get out of the way of a 198 that folded up the wrong way. (1996, October. Somewhere close to North Rets. That's all I'm gonna say about that one.)

I still can't figure out how one 'dream team' crew got their M119 to go belly up on flat ground.. and remain locked in the hitch.
My training section chief said, "Privates, you see thta? That a cluster F." And he kept on driving the Humvee along. Never stopped to help. That was the funny part.

Gunman Chronicles was a "Space Western" game that actually was pretty fun to play. (You get to drive a tank and blow stuff up. Oh, and the sv_cheats 1 thig works on it as well.)

I have my 20 gig drive filled up with HL stuff....
Rogue spear and Black Thorn wouldn't fit.

Fort Drum had this nice night back in August 2000, it was unseasonably cold. And we (advanced party) got caught by surprise by it. We were only supposed to be away from the battery for three hours.. they ended up overnighting somewhere on Alexandria road after having to deal with the OpFor without us. So most of our gear was back with our respective gun sections. (The captain wouldn't let us bring our gear along on the AP humvee.)

So we went to Mopp 4 to keep warm. (Full bio-chem gear.)

I spend most of my gaming time playing "Panzer Elite". It's a WWII tank Sim that no one has berat yet even though it came out in 1999.

LTC Gabriel Michelle at Fort Sill (1996, probably promoted since then) was a Clinton supporter.

As was my former captain at my home unit.
It came through the grapevine that a few Marine units were being asked if they'd fire on their fellow citizens if ordered to do so by the UN. Ostensibly, this was floated to see if the military would violate their oaths to uphold protect and defend the constitution if the UN ever got it passed that the US citizenry has no right to own guns. (Actual proposal before the UN.)

Well, it got floated in my unit as well, as a hypothetical.
We had a former marine in my unit that said, "Yeah!"
I reminded him of his oath of service and the fact that he'd be firing on fellow citizens. He didn't care.
I stated that the guy in the blue bonnet would have to watch out for me. He'd either be capped or bayonetted.

Don't play sims too often. Jane's Longbow 2 is about it. I keep it on realistic flight performance while using a wingman extreme digital joystick.

Originally I had wanted to join the navy and be on submarines (5 foot or 500 foot, a hole in the hull is a hole in the hull)
Well, the navy told me to f myself. As did the Marines and the Air Force.
The Army told me to play with tanks, the National Guard said, 'You pull this little lever here and somethinf eight miles aways get vaped.'
I went with Artillery.
This fits in with the flight sims in this way: I'm near sighted, so I'd be a ground crewman only. I'd never get to lift a heck-a-bug off the ground, ever.
But I've had people tell me I'm a natural at it. (Huh? How can one be a natural at flying anymore? It's all electronic, and flying a helo in the real world is a lot dif than flying a sim.)
