The brainchild of FreeRepublic.com poster "dcwusmc", VCR was started by posting an announcement on FreeRepublic during the afternoon of December 11, 2001, asking veterans if they would be interested in joining the proposed organization. Within hours of the initial post, over 100 replies had been generated, and volunteers to serve as the first Board of Directors had been identified and a veteran in Nevada had agreed to serve the organization as the Resident Agent in that state.
The first meeting of the new Board of Directors was held online in IRC chat on December 16, 2001 in the virtual Board Room established on Freedom-USA IRC network. The channel on Freedom-USA's network is #vcr.
The goals of the organization are simple: an ongoing educational outreach program that will explain to and teach the people about our republican form of government, how government has over-reached and extended itself beyond its mandated limits, and what needs to be done to push government, particularly the federal government, back inside its constitutional box, and to limit it to ONLY those powers and duties specifically granted to it by the Constitution. We are asking veterans to join us in this endeavor, because of the OATH that we all took, to PROTECT and DEFEND the Constitution from ALL enemies, foreign and DOMESTIC. The task before us is daunting, but American Veterans have faced daunting tasks before, and I'm hopeful that you will step up again before we lose the Republic and all that it has stood for these past 200+ years, FREEDOM and LIBERTY.
Toward this end, several projects are in the works, with the goal of ending 80+ years of creaping socialism and restoring the Constitutional Republic envisioned by the Founding Fathers.
Toward FREEDOM
Well, that's entirely unsat :)
Toward FREEDOM
Being a VietNamEraVet and one of the hardest hitting patriots here or upon any forum about liberty, freedom and Constitutional issues I want to see more of your proposals.

All the best, and see you in July!
God bless the veterans of our uniformed services.
