About VetsCoR

The brainchild of FreeRepublic.com poster "dcwusmc", VCR was started by posting an announcement on FreeRepublic during the afternoon of December 11, 2001, asking veterans if they would be interested in joining the proposed organization. Within hours of the initial post, over 100 replies had been generated, and volunteers to serve as the first Board of Directors had been identified and a veteran in Nevada had agreed to serve the organization as the Resident Agent in that state.

The first meeting of the new Board of Directors was held online in IRC chat on December 16, 2001 in the virtual Board Room established on Freedom-USA IRC network. The channel on Freedom-USA's network is #vcr.

The goals of the organization are simple: an ongoing educational outreach program that will explain to and teach the people about our republican form of government, how government has over-reached and extended itself beyond its mandated limits, and what needs to be done to push government, particularly the federal government, back inside its constitutional box, and to limit it to ONLY those powers and duties specifically granted to it by the Constitution. We are asking veterans to join us in this endeavor, because of the OATH that we all took, to PROTECT and DEFEND the Constitution from ALL enemies, foreign and DOMESTIC. The task before us is daunting, but American Veterans have faced daunting tasks before, and I'm hopeful that you will step up again before we lose the Republic and all that it has stood for these past 200+ years, FREEDOM and LIBERTY.

Toward this end, several projects are in the works, with the goal of ending 80+ years of creaping socialism and restoring the Constitutional Republic envisioned by the Founding Fathers.

I made contact with the local VFW to let them know about this site and all the activitirs we have going on for and with the Veterans ie; VCR and USO Canteen Freeper Style. I hope to hear back from the commander soon and hopefully bring some of them on board. Would this be considered the beginnings of a local chapter. It seems like i haven't had any luck with the Buffalo chapter of FreeRepublic :(

"Hey Tonk, how the heck's it going?"

I'm still studying to qualify as a radio room watchstander.
I go in every Tue and Thur.
The base is really short of personnel
and come end of May they send 6 people to man the Bandon Station till Labor Day
As I stated before I will do everything I can to promote VetsCor but I hesitate to take on more than I can handle.
My current priorities are CG Aux, the USO Canteen and the USO Canteen Post Office.
Then Radio FR and my business.
Make sure you bump me on every thread and I'll do all I can to help get the word out.
There is a link to the site in the USO Canteen Post Office which gets a lot of search engine traffic.
Thank You ALL for getting this going.

You're doing PLENTY, Tonk. I still appreciate the fact you were the one who turned me on to the Coast Guard Auxiliary.

Would still like for you to join us even if you don't have the time to actively contribute. Ya don't want to miss specific updates, notices, alerts, project info, etc. that will be sent out directly to members. Either way, you're certainly doing your part for our Military and Homeland Defense. Best regards.
