Here’s a partial update on churches in the east-Tennessee area near Gatlinburn, Sevierville, and Pigeon Forge where the wildfire has damaged so much of the area. We
encourage you to please pray for the people there. Several of their buildings have been damaged or completely destroyed and, of course, members of the churches have had property and homes destroyed as well. Some churches whose buildings have not been burned down or damaged are offering shelter, food, and first aid to those in need in the area. Please share this post to spread the word on their situation so that people...

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WKRN) – A small Murfreesboro church congregation found it cleaning up broken glass after vandals busted out a side window. The
vandals struck just before daybreak Tuesday but were scared away by the alarm system at the church. Another nearby business has also been the target of vandals, and now police have placed extra patrol in the area. It was a restless night for Path of Life Ministries Pastor Billy Brooks. “[I was] sound asleep,” Brooks said from his home in Tullahoma. “I got a phone call around 3:30 this morning.”

Law enforcement agencies in Tennessee and Georgia are looking for an anonymous man who sent ominous, eerie letters signed "The Waster" to dozens of churches. The
photocopied, handwritten letter - which criticizes "you preachers, ministers, and chaplains" for not teaching all of the commandments of the Bible - has been sent to at least 50 churches in the last two weeks in McMinn and Monroe counties in Tennessee and in Murray County, Georgia - and likely elsewhere, authorities said. It doesn't include an explicit threat, meaning no crime has technically been committed, but "it's better to be safe than sorry,"...

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - Shots were fired into Saint Matthew Missionary Baptist Church in the 2000 block of Pendleton Street. Officers were told that one of the church's pastors noticed a bullet hole in the front door of the building. It
is unknown when the shots were fired, because no one else was at the church at the time. At this time, investigators say there is nothing indicating that the shooting is connected to the shooting in South Carolina. WMC Action News 5's Jerica Phillips is on the scene now to learn more information.
