Ron Pauls inclusive message attracting African American voters
Maple Brown, USA Daily
Published 10/25/2007 - 11:34 a.m. EDT
Ron Pauls inclusive message of peace, freedom, and prosperity may be attracting African American voters. According to this poll, Ron Paul leads his GOP opponents among black voters in general election contests.
In general election matches Paul loses among African American voters 60% to 33% against Hillary Clinton and loses 61% to 31% to Barack Obama.
In 2004 CNN exit polls show Bush receiving 11% of the African American vote in the general election against Kerry.
The averages of general election match up against either Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama are for Paul, Romney, McCain or Giuliani are, Ron Paul - 32%, Mitt Romney - 23.5%, John McCain - 20%, Rudy Giuliani - 16%.
If the polls are accurate it could mean that Ron Pauls message that Freedom unites people is working. Pauls uncompromising defense of the Bill of Rights is making him a Civil Rights Leader in his own right. ("Ron Paul inspiring new Civil Rights movements")
The poll, if accurate, could also mean that Ron Pauls message of repealing the police state is resonating with African American voters.
Paul does appear to be a uniting political force attracting supporters at his events from all walks of life.
USA Daily does not encourage its readers to allow polls to influence their voting decisions in any way. They are too often inaccurate. This statement is not a comment on the poll in question just on polling in general. (Discuss the election on www.usadaily.net)
Ping for later.
LOL. Nice pic.
Hit some of the anarchist sites, they have a lot of Che/Paul stuff.
"If you analyze it I believe the very heart and soul of conservatism is libertarianism. I think conservatism is really a misnomer just as liberalism is a misnomer for the liberalsif we were back in the days of the Revolution, so-called conservatives today would be the Liberals and the liberals would be the Tories. The basis of conservatism is a desire for less government interference or less centralized authority or more individual freedom and this is a pretty general description also of what libertarianism is.
Now, I cant say that I will agree with all the things that the present group who call themselves Libertarians in the sense of a party say, because I think that like in any political movement there are shades, and there are libertarians who are almost over at the point of wanting no government at all or anarchy. I believe there are legitimate government functions. There is a legitimate need in an orderly society for some government to maintain freedom or we will have tyranny by individuals. The strongest man on the block will run the neighborhood. We have government to insure that we dont each one of us have to carry a club to defend ourselves. But again, I stand on my statement that I think that libertarianism and conservatism are travelling the same path." - President Ronald Reagan 1975 (Full interview)
Be fair, everyone knows Freepers are neocon warmongers, Paul supporters excluded of course.
An Open Letter to Michael Medved

Dear Mr.Medved:
It is well known that many supporters of your radio show are deranged, bloodthirsty wackos who would like our military to drop nuclear bombs on Iran, which would kill hundreds of thousands, maybe even millions, of innocent people.
These people sometimes call themselves "Evangelical Christians," "Freepers," "Republican Party activists," "neocons," "The Heritage Foundation," "American Enterprise Institute," "Dick Cheney," "Charles Krauthammer," "William Kristol," and other creepy-sounding names.
In order to avoid gaining the reputation of a supporter of mass murder of innocents, I recommend that you immediately disassociate yourself from all these moral misfits. If not, I'm afraid you will be considered to be one of them.
Outstanding, when it comes to the unpopular, for Paul supporters, condemning neonazis, FR comes in second only to Evangelicals amongst the anti-hater loons, and ahead of neocons!
oh please dont change it for me - let the world know clearly how tasteless you truly are
33 percent of 15 percent of the country is not really huge if you consider that he will get maybe 2 percent of the caucasian vote. Luckily for the U.S., Paul loses no matter how you split the rainbow.
ROFL!
*****Paul is just the in thing to follow now... Stephen Colbert may be his biggest threat.****
I have never seen a candidate get so much grass roots support, along with so much grass root money. He has raised almost half the amount of money in October as he raised last quarter. On Nov. 5, he will probably get close to $2 M on that day alone. That is worth about $10 M to Ron Paul, given his grass roots support.
I know he is still a long shot, but I am willing to put my money on him.
I tend to ignore talking points that mirror what one would find on DU or KOS.
Did OP get sent to the corner for posting this thread ?
