Where Have All the FR Protestants Gone?
drstevej
Posted on 04/08/2003 12:29 PM CDT by drstevej
OBSERVATIONS:
[1] There seems to be a significantly reduced number of Protestant Threads (KJV Only being the exception for sure) in the FR Religion Forum.
[2] There seems to be a reduced number of FR Protestant posts in the Religion Forum.
This thread is a place to discuss these observations.
------------
Now the transformation to a Catholic Religion Forum is almost complete. Must be a Marian miracle or an answer to Jim Robinson's prayer, "Can't we all just get along?" Now all the dissent is within the RC fold ... NO Mass vs. Tridentine Mass. Boredom has descended, the moderators are free to nap without fear of an **** awakening them.
Could someone arrange for a funeral mass? (a clown mass in this case might be in order).

I am taking resume's for Holy Inquisitor for the Pope Piel papacy. Care to apply?
(BTW, clean hands are not required for the position, Calvinist Cardinal Woody)

I have taken the strongest and stubbornest of men and turned them into weeping, cringing hulks of flesh just by reading them the
Ontario Rules of Civil Procedure for an hour or two.
Does that count?

Hi Sitetest
"The "far left" at FR is just a little to the left of our Holy Father, if that much. The Holy Father, himself, isn't far from the left-most place in the spectrum, as represented here at FR. And the right goes all the way past Catholic to lunatic fringe sedevacantist heretic. And they represent a fair number of the Catholic and near-Catholic posters here at FR!"
I was having a similar conversation with a liberal parish friend who had no idea that the Pope was pretty much in the middle and there was another whole spectrum to the right of him. Most Catholics in my parish that I've talked with think the Pope is the far right of Church politics...and these are folks, practicing Catholics, active in parish life, who went to typical Catholic Colleges in the northeast.

Does anyone believe the NO is invalid?? Yes, some sedevacantists, such as Brother Michael Diamond of Holy Family Monastary, argue that the Novus Ordo is invalid.

Would make a great freeper name, lol.
The church dirt that has surfaced over the past 15 months makes me really wonder...there was a time when I would have just burst out laughing at the idea.

Glad to hear the clarifications I haven't heard before now.I've been very clear; but this is just what I expected from you: throw out the lie with no evidence, whatsoever, and then offer no apology when you are disproved.
To: Land of the Irish
You should have clarified sinkspur's misconceptions about you a long time ago. This is all your fault.

To both Catholic and Protestant Christians here: The ultimate question is this: Christ in you, your only hope of Glory! He is the vine, you - and I - are the branches. If we abide in Him, and He abides in us, the world will see the difference between Christians and those who are not called by His name, and will want to know the One who is our Life! If we are not abiding in the Vine, if we are living in our own strength, by our own power and might, and do not have lives yielded to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (about whom we all agree is our Savior and Lord) - then we are fruitless branches and will be removed from the vine. If we are fruitful, we will be pruned in order to bear more fruit.
So, we might look around and see if there is any "fruit" (of the Holy Spirit) evident in our lives and in the lives of those for whom we pray and/or those whom we serve. If not, we have the privilege to ask God to prune us and bring fruit from His Life, lived out in our lives, with all praise and honor to HIM!
Some of the pruning might mean less time on FR and more time in prayer and in His Word (or in His church, however anyone is led).

You'd be suprised what sort of confessions you can extract with a Black and Decker Firestorm drill and a reduced shank 3/4" bit on low speed! A Firestorm??? That 14.4v underpowered thing? I have the 18v B&D model! Sure, mine doesn't have the removable-chuck-with-the-driver-bit-underneath thingy, but I'll bet I can turn out more trepannings per hour than that wimpy thing ever will :)

Yeah FR religion forum seems to be dominated by catholics but I like to post a John MacArthur column every now and then just to annoy everyone. LOL!

No, the Consecration is valid--therefore the Real Presence is achieved. The problem is the Novus Ordo ignores this dimension of Christ's Presence entirely and proceeds immediately after the Consecration to celebrate His virtual presence in the assembly instead. This suppression of the faith is further compounded by denying the faithful any opportunity to properly worship Christ's actual Presence--for instance, by kneeling for Communion.

Sure, mine doesn't have the removable-chuck-with-the-driver-bit-underneath thingy, but I'll bet I can turn out more trepannings per hour than that wimpy thing ever will :) No, i meant the 18v model, which is what i have, two ranges, High speed or High torque. Of course, if it does bind, you get some interesting side effects from the heretic when you attempt to free it.
Did you know with a bit that size at high speed you can make somebody's kneecap explode? You should however, start from the back of the leg and let the heat build up, and the body fluids lubricate the bit.
If you go with a slightly smaller bit, you can get some exquisite sensations from a 3/4" NPT tap as well. Again, you need a reduced shank, unless you want to hand tap the body part!
My all time favorite technique is still to remove the skin, and soak the exposed flesh with Gasoline, you don't even have to ask any questions, they WILL talk, before and after they scream
