***Only to be resurrected in the 16th century - along with Nestorianism, Manicheeism and the rest!!***
Only to be resurrected in the 20th century by the Jehovah's Witnesses. This heresy is like a bad burrito, once it goes down it keeps coming back up.

"the Bible"
So your church and liturgy look just like those described in the Apocalypse do they?

LOL
Funny how all these spiritual phenomena have bodily allegories isn't it?
But as I don't want to be the occasion of sin for my brother, I better not say any more!!
To: Tantumergo
Well, we don't quite have 24 elders. But sometimes they fall down. :)

Thanks for the PING!
Regrding the ENTIRE article... The word "OUTSTANDING" seems a bit weak to me.
I'm so sorry that some cannot find their way to explore the mystery in an honest manner. I hope this important thread does not degrade, but insted, helps non-Catholics or those confused about their faith to discover the joy of being Catholic.
My very best wishes and regards,

Thank you for this thread! It's absolutely fantastic! There's so many things I liked about it but the following is one of my favorites:
Sacred Tradition is in the tradition of the Oral Torah, which was also handed down from one generation to the next. Judaism holds that the Oral Torah was equal in authority to the Written Torah because God gave it, and would protect it as it passed across the centuries.

Very good to see you! And thank you for your post. This is an outstanding article and Catholic FREEPERS have provided many excellent comments. May we pray for those who cannot comprehend our joy or our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

<> Excellent post, thanks. Two weeks ago, I was at a Bible Study course in Boynton Beach, FL. After the priest's presentation, during the qustion and answer session, a gentleman asked a question. The priest, prior to responding, introduced the questioner to the audience:' "This is Mr. Solomon. He is a convert from Judaism."
Polite applause broke-out. "Me too," announced another gentleman laughing. "I am also a convert. And my name is Solomon."
Laughing also, a woman stood-up, "I can't believe it. My name is also Solomon. I converted last year."
Pretty eye-opening. A Bible Study class of about 100, three of whom are converts from Judaism. Not a single one of them felt sorrow or regret about having been raised Jewish. They just see themselves as accepting the fulness of truth.
Good post..I suspect this thread will attract the usual accusations..:)<>

Something much better, the Bible. If I understand, you believe that only doctrines found in Scripture are true, is that correct?

(angelo) It doesn't make the facts of Catholic conversions to Judaism "questionable", though.
Yes it does.I feel their reasons are questionable.
Are you one who feels all conversions to the RCC are valid and all conversions from the RCC are "questionable"?
To: Codie
Yes it does.I feel their reasons are questionable. Your feelings on the validity of their reasons for converting are irrelevent. You will note that I did not question the reasons for the Roman rabbi who converted to Catholicism. Nor, for that matter, did you.

Maybe you should read Edith Stein's story, or listen to Rosalind Moss's conversion tape. No thank you, I am very happy as a Jew. If you would like to experience this happiness in your own life, I would be delighted to share some information with you, answer any questions you may have, and help you explore the possibility of converting to Judaism.

Constantine was Jewish? Constantine founded the Catholic Church like Chester A. Arthur founded the United States.
(BTW, Ignatius of Antioch called himself "bishop of the Catholic Church in Syria" 200 years before Constantine was even born.)

the church you go to bears little, if any resemblance to the original church. You don't look like your baby pictures, either. Are you the same person you were when you were a baby?

Maybe you are scared of the truth, i challenge you to listen to Rosalind Moss' conversion story, and to listen to her joy to be in the fullness of being Catholic, which she describes as the fullfillment of Judaism. Most who leave the Church, leave because they have an " issue " with it.

(BTW, Ignatius of Antioch called himself "bishop of the Catholic Church in Syria" 200 years before Constantine was even born.) Yes, but the word "catholic" was an adjective meaning universal, not a capital C pronoun standing for the title of your church. Your revisionist history is disingenous. Your denominition's good at that, but it does fool some of the more simpleminded.

I'll take that as a "yes", meaning I am correct. Thanks.
