I have received the joyful news that two of our Freeper family entered the Church at Vigil this last weekend. ventana and roachie received the sacraments, and this is an occasion for great rejoicing by all of the faithful.
I thought it would be good for us to congratulate those who have just entered the Church by posting a welcome, a favorite Catholic quote, a favorite Catholic link, a favorite Scripture, or even a favorite holy card image. Please join me in welcoming ventana and roachie. If there are any others, please let us know so we may all rejoice.

Welcome dear friends in Christ!
My favorite quote from Mother Teresa:
"Very often throughout the day,
we should say,
'Jesus, alive in my heart, I love you'."

"Always remember that there is one God, that there is one salvation which is eternal and that you have one life to live, which must be lived by you alone. If you do this, there will be many things in this world, about which, you care nothing." St. Teresa of Avila

Halleluia! Congratulations! Christ is Risen! I am so happy for you both!
My favorite Catholic devotion is called the Chaplet of the Divine Mercy. You can go to this LINK to learn about the Divine Mercy devotion and about St. Faustina.
Also, there is a Catholic television network that is wonderful. It is called Eternal Word Television Network.

Congratulations! It has been 2 years for me and I feel as strong as ever that I found the home for my faith.
Come, Holy Spirit,
fill the hearts of Your faithful
and kindle in them the fire of Your love.
Send forth Your Spirit,
and they shall be created;
And You will renew the face of the earth.
This is a short version of a longer prayer but I really think it is so beautiful and so full of meaning.

God bless and keep you. Congratulations! I'm a convert,too. Praise God for His mercy and love. I'm always thrilled when I see how his loving kindness draws souls in unlikely ways from unlikely places.

Four of my Catechism classmates were baptized at Easter Vigil and one (a man in his sixties) took Communion for for the first time ... it was so exciting. I'm thrilled for both of you.
While you can find all sorts of good Catholic references tucked away at St. Patrick's, I'll leave you with some Catholic words to live by instilled in me by my folks: Offer it up!
=)

Thank You for posting this, Father! God Be Praised!
Congradulations ventana and roachie.
May the Peace of Christ remain forever in your soul, and the Love of the Blessed Trinity reign supreme in your minds and hearts!

By the way, Petersnet is a search engine for all those Catholic web sites. Type any subject in the top left corner search box and you'll find something about it. It is an excellent resource both for apologetics and Catholic research in general.
Also, the Document Library Search engine at EWTN online is a good place to search for any Catholic subject or issue. Use the "keyword" search.
Finally, one I forgot... New Advent has the ENTIRE Catholic Encyclopedia online, as well these great links:

Welcome from one who came back home this Easter..It was a moving experience on Ash Weds. when I went to purchase a newspaper at the local quick check; there across the street was our church. As I emerged from the car, somehow I felt as if two hands were on my shoulders directing me into the church. Participating at the Mass and listening to the homily just gave me an overwhelming feeling of what I have been missing all these years. God does work in mysterious ways and I am very grateful that He has given me that second chance.

Welcome to our family!
An Irish Prayer May those who love us, love us;
and those who don't love us,
may God turn their hearts;
and if He doesn't turn their hearts,
may he turn their ankles
so we'll know them by their limping.

It has been a little over one year since I returned to the Catholic faith. Shortly after my return, my pastor strongly recommended (in fact, he gave me a copy)
An Introduction to the Devout Life by St. Francis de Sales. It is a wonderful, beautiful book full of excellent advice for the lay Catholic. I will be reading it again because there is too much great advice to absorb in one reading. You can order the book from
Tan Books. St. Francis de Sales is one of the
Doctors of the Church.
