Statesmen may plan and speculate for liberty, but it is religion and morality alone which can establish the principles upon which freedom can securely stand. The only foundation of a free constitution is pure virtue. - John Adams |
Naw, I make her do that. :) Really the shoe jobs around here cost about $50, our shoer needed some bobcat work done, I said I got a bobcat, take it and have fun, he did, he now shoes our horses for $30. :)

I see them as a whole story, and I'm a dispensationalist, and the promises are true.

Right now, no one, the best deal out there now is I Bonds at 4.66%, but the stock market has returned an average of 10% or so for many years. 12% is an amount that a shrewd investor might hope to get over a long period of time. You have to look to the long haul, and you have to plan and take care of your investements. Intrest tax free municipal bond's are cheap and a good investement now.

Do you see any conflict between
Everything that I command you you shall be careful to do; you shall not add to it or take from it. (Deuteronomy 12:32)
and
For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set me free from the law of sin and death. (Romans 8:2)
?
Dispensationalists don't see them as the whole story. They see it as an age of law or an age of grace.
What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it [Deut. 12:32].
No, They are to give heed to these commandments which the Lord gives them. If they disobey God, God will treat them as He treats the other nations. God doesnt watch the actions of some people and disregard others. I have never understood why some Christians think they can get by with certain things that other people do not get by with. Sin is sin. If Israel does not obey the Lord, she will not be spared. So the encouragement for them is to observe to do what the Lord commands them.
For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death [Rom. 8:2].
The law of the Spirit means not only a principle of law, but also the authority which is exercised by the Spirit. The Spirit of life means the Holy Spirit who brings life because He essentially is life. He is the Spirit of life. In Christ Jesus means that the Holy Spirit is in complete union with Christ Jesus. Because the believer shares the life of Christ, He liberates the believers. The law of sin and death is the authority that sin had over our old nature, ending in complete severance of fellowship with God. That new nature could not break the shackles at all. Only the coming of a higher authority and power could accomplish this, namely the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit operates upon the new nature, which is vitally joined to the life of Christ.

So Paul did not abrogate the Law? Why, then, do most Christians not follow it?
In the final analysis it proved to be an "aura" as a result of epilepsy caused by a severe fall which cracked my skull. I didn't know at the time that it was a "sanctifying" episode. In fact, I still don't see the connection. I simply thought it was just one more condition I had to learn how to live with. ;-)
I agree that law and grace go hand in hand perpetually. Christians must know that the law (Torah) is the Messiah (John 1)therefore can not be disconected from grace. Jews need to know that grace comes from the Torah (Messiah). I disagree with dispensationalists however that the age of law is confined to the OT and the age of grace is confined to the NT.
We do, just not like Steven thinks we do. :) The Holy Spirit that lives in us will move us to fulfill the spirit of the law not the letter of the law.

Really? :)

OK, one comment. Too bad it wasn't a good smell like Krispy Kremes or steak or new car.

I interpret that verse in context to mean that man is no longer under the penalty of the law of the Torah. Remember, not one jot of title of the law will pass away until heaven and earth does. Also
Romans 3 31 Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.
What is the difference between fulfilling the spirit of the law vs. the letter of the law? Can one fulfil the spirit of the law even if he disobeys the letter of the law?
You shall walk after the LORD your God and fear him, and keep his commandments and obey his voice, and you shall serve him and cleave to him. (Deuteronomy 13:4)
I know that. You know that. Others don't agree.
