The Neverending Story
An ongoing debate on Scripture, Tradition, History and Interpretation.

Statesmen may plan and speculate for liberty, but it is religion and morality alone which can establish the principles upon which freedom can securely stand. The only foundation of a free constitution is pure virtue. - John Adams

According to Catholic theology, the sacrament is valid. The reasoning is that it is Jesus performing the sacrament, not the sinful priest.

Hey. Your talking to a guy who doesn't think his own Catholic baptism is valid. :-)

I never said baptisms and communions weren't valid. Those are between the recipient and God. I said get the perverts out as soon as possible. Simple as that.

I can read the Bible perfectly well so long as I don't have your help.

Never said you couldn't just blow the dust off and do it.

My point being that English(Angled-Jututes-Saxons) laws were not codified (so far as we know) until after 497. Of course, German laws and customs were known to the Romans more than a century before Christ. And Dave would not like our fogetting that it was the Irish who brought Christianity to these heathens and to elsewhere in western Europe.

So if you would like to join me in this new paradigm - share your personal experience that is driving your passion on this subject.

Not everyone has a "personal experience" with everything. In fact, it is by dispassionate means that we arrive at what is truly just.

Neither a person whose kin is on death row, nor the families of the victims are in a dispassionate state. It would be great if the victim's family can find a way to forgive a killer who is repentant. But this is difficult for many, understandably.

Do you keep kosher? Do you observe the Saturday Sabbath?

The answer to this is in the scripture you quote.

Deuteronomy 4 2 Do not add to what I command you and do not subtract from it, but keep the commands of the LORD your God that I give you.

These commands were for Israel, and that's who this refers to.

Who did God say this to? Did he say it to the Egyptian Pharaoh, or a heathen nation?

God holds those who he enters an agreement with, and not those who were not a part of it.

There is no evidence given that any pervert priests did not intend to stay away from their sin. We can not presume an insincerity, a "faith given only by word, and not deed." We need only look to our own lives and see that we can set out with the best intentions and yet fail once again.

I agree with you except for in extreme circumstances mentioned in 1 Corinthians 1. I also think pediphilia would fall under that as well. I don't know entirely what this means but I bet it means said person should no be a priest or minister anymore.

"1 Corinthians 5:5 To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.

Except for the fact that a mixed multitude came out of Egypt and any sojourners with them had to abide commands as well.

The fact they joined with Israel was proof they were in agreement with the Laws of Israel, sorta like foreigners who come to the US are supposed keep our laws.

Make sure you read the Apocrypha. You would fund that Ecclesiasticus is Ecclesiastes without the pessimism. Bear in mind that this is a translation from the original Hebrew by the grandson of the author.

The definition you used from the dictionary fit exactly the willful acts of pedophilia committed by priests who practice those heinous acts for years and years.

My bad. I forgot you can peer into the hearts of men and know whether they are acting by "conscious design" or not. you should meet Havoc. He can read auras while in line at the Piggly Wiggly to tell who's dancing with the devil.

You'd get along smashingly.

By the way, the question is still unanswered whether you ever commit the same sin twice, after repenting for the first time.

To do good as he sees it. Hitler killed the Jews to save the master race from pollution of their blood.

Then is it safe to say that man doesn't have the ability to determin what's right or wrong, with out the backing of God's definition of what sin is?
