Then is it safe to say that man doesn't have the ability to determin what's right or wrong, with out the backing of God's definition of what sin is?

God gave mankind the ability and desire to know right from wrong, but we often err, and our errors have terrible consequences. It seems that we peversely choose to do what we know is not good, because our supreme good is to get our own way.
