The Neverending Story
An ongoing debate on Scripture, Tradition, History and Interpretation.

Statesmen may plan and speculate for liberty, but it is religion and morality alone which can establish the principles upon which freedom can securely stand. The only foundation of a free constitution is pure virtue. - John Adams

Best wishes for your recovery. 40 Years ago a fellow tried to sell me on a bike. It didn't fit my lifestyle as I needed a car to carry my stuff from place to place. Anyway, he said the worst thing about being a biker was that you are invisible, because most people don't see what they don't expect to see, which is a bike. He took a trip on a big bike --the easy rider type--along RT 66 to California and made sure he took up as much space as a car and tried to make himself visible at all time. Even so, cars wouldn't see him when he went to pass and would pull out in front of him. He nearly got wiped out a half dozen times.

lol. I will likely be getting rid of this bike; but, I'm going to the bank tomorrow to see about a loan for a Harley - or at least another bike. I was offered a nice WideGlide last week at a really good price. My Honda can be fixed, I just don't know if I can get it done quickly enough to be of any use. So, we'll see ;) Why you wantin a good bike? LOL

Lol. You must really be hurtin. :-)

If Steven had been in an accident, he'd still be able to muster a "prayers to the sun 'god' are not effective".

I promise to restrict all prayers directly to Jesus. I don't even know if there is a patron saint of bikers (not really my "thing" anyway.

Hope your feeling better soon.

PS You gonna get rid of that bike when you get well? :-)

Tell'um II, my 38 year old son in Ohio, just sent pictures of him on his new HD Fl HTP Police Special Electra Glide.

I had flashes of holding him up as a 15 year old, so he wouldn't faint after running the front wheel of his new Vespa into a hole, and it flipping over, and landing on top of him with the kick stand sticking in his leg.

Stupid is, stupid does, my mama always said.

I'll just write and tell him that if he wrecks, and breaks both his legs, don't come running to me. :-)

Havoc, If I was in the habit of getting under Satan’s skin, I'd do some serious thinking on whether or not a motor cycle is the best possible form of transportation you can come up with. Lol

Geeze, Reg, is everything a Catholic does wrong in your opinion?! You've noticed, too.

Of course that's "you're" feeling better.

And I found him:

Patron Saint Of Motorcycling

The Vatican has offically endorsed an early Irish saint, Columbanus of Bobbio as the patron saint of motorcyclists. He was born on the Carlow/Wicklow border in the year 543 ad, and died at the monastery he founded in Bobbio, in what is now Northern Italy in 615 AD, after many years of travelling around Europe. His bones still lie interred in his church there.

A handsome rugged kind of chap, he left Ireland to escape the clutches of lascivious women who were irresistibly attracted to him. According to the biography of his life written by Jonas, one of the many miracles attributed to him involved the multiplication of bread and beer, as follows:

"A while after, Columban went to the monastery of Fontaines and found sixty brethren hoeing the ground and preparing the fields for the future crop. When he saw them breaking up the clods with great labor, he said, "May the Lord prepare for you a feast, my brethren." Hearing this the attendant said, "Father, believe me, we have only two loaves and a very little beer." Columban answered, "Go and bring those." The attendant went quickly and brought the two loaves and a little beer. Columban, raising his eyes to heaven, said, "Christ Jesus, only hope of the world, do Thou, who from five loaves satisfied five thousand men in the wilderness, multiply these loaves and this drink." Wonderful faith! All were satisfied and each one drank as much as he wished. The servant carried back twice as much in fragments and twice the amount of drink. And so he knew that faith is more deserving of the divine gifts than despair, which is wont to diminish even what one has."

Sounds like your kind of guy. You want I should toss in a couple extra to this "handsome rugged chap"??? Might help you with the ladies.

Wow the post total has to be some kind of one day record for the thread. Of course moth of them were pictures of Luther, John 3:16 and Cindy "better late then never" Dawg....

I did want to say that I also enjoyed the buildup to 50,000...it made me laugh too.

I missed it because I was watching "Rocky 5" and lost track of time. How pathetic is that??

Ouch! This is why I don't like bikes. Sorry, Havoc. Save your strength, stick with shorter posts, try to avoid any unnecessary spinning :-). I'm sure we're all hoping, and for those of us who know how, praying, for your speediest recovery.

I don't give a hoot about the bike though.

Thank you ventana. Lot's of visitors and lots of calls; so, I am trying to conserve what I can. Mother will be here with potato soup later so I will finally get lunch.. lol. But don't worry I have a computer next to the bed for just such occasions. So I can type a bit and doze off mid sentence if need be ;)

At about 11:30 this morning, I was in an acceident while going out for lunch

Yowch...my motorcycle riding career began and ended with a Honda Hawk 550 (I think). Soon had to give it up because it wasn't practical for dating my future wife...although it was great for getting close contact initially so it serve a purpose.

Prayers for your speedy recovery.

Hey, I felt bad that I started running 30 posts early until I found out that the doc started at 50. I had to just guess when to stop. I only get about half that I post.

I thought there was no way it was going to even get close until 11 PM or so. I wasn't banking on the feeding frenzy that occurred.. :-)

He was reluctant to start His ministry. She made Him begin with His first public miracle

She made Him begin with His first public miracle ? She made Him do it? She made Christ do it? She made God Do it? Do you realize what you are saying?
