Re 48236

Those who want to identify the Babylon of 1 Peter with Rome must explain why the Bablyon of Revelation does not refer to Rome.

Not exactly.

They are two different books.

Besides that, a Catholic can accept that both refer to Rome. Revelation is referring to Rome, the Empire. Only some serious anachronism makes this reference to the Church that would grow to be situated roughly in Rome.

It is more a reaction to the Godlike qualities you are assigning to your "perfect" person.

Which "Godlike qualities" would that be?

Likewise, the perfected human, the human who is totally free from sin and perfect in every way, remains a human and not a god.

Except that the only perfect human, in the sense that you are using it, born perfect was a God.

Thank you for asserting the point I was trying to make.

Yes, Jesus was God and man. And yes He was perfect, sinless, from His Conception on.

You assert that divinity is necessary for a human being to be perfect. I don't see why.

Every one of us has the opportunity to become a perfect sinless human. This doesn't make us divine. I don't know how much more simply I can express this.

You stated that if Mary was the source of Jesus' humanity, that he woudl have to be female. That is, of course, to limit God in how He does His Miracles.

Did she? Let's look at what she said.

"Our knowledge as of today is that the female egg is X chromosone. The male sperm are Ys and Xs. xx=girl xy=boy. If only tissue of Mary were replicated then wouldn't she have birthed a daughter? But, it didn't happen this way. Why? Caz we aren't as smart as we think we are? Caz with God all things are possible?"

Where is her statement? My statement is, you have deliberately twisted her words.

Re 48243

Well, the problem frankly is that they think 2 dimensionally. They see a term used in the Bible and think because it appears there that it must apply everywhere - the critical review doesn't happen.

LOL. Havoc, have you ever met any Non-Catholic Christians?

It is they, not the Catholics, who eschew more nuanced understanding of what words in Scripture mean.

It's not the Catholics running around going "all have sinned" and "call no man on earth 'father' without the slightest effort in finding the message of the passage rather than the simplest literal rendering.

Do you know if they plan to distribute them beyond the local market, or is this still a phase of the development?

Thanks!

Maybe I haven't totally followed her entire message, but she is saying to me that if Mary is the source of Jesus' humanity that He would be female. If this is the denial of Mary's true motherhood of Jesus, that I am questioning it.

I'll have to look into it. I know I read a few months ago that they were looking for growers to sign on. I'll see if I can find anything.

Not at all. I assert there was only one born perfect and that was Jesus. (We aren't going to be forced to post the "no not one" Scriptures one more time are we?)

Every one of us has the opportunity to become a perfect sinless human. This doesn't make us divine. I don't know how much more simply I can express this.

By golly, you've finally got it. To become perfect. Wow, it took a while.

Here's an article on the onions. It sounds like they are a few years from any type of national distribution.

Yeah, right. You guys want to insist there are 12 possible meanings to "You may not do X" - and 11 of them are "you actually can we were just being silly" while the last one gets rejected out of hand as just wrong thinking. Depends on the situation too. But there you have it.

Well we each have read Cindy's words with our own particular bias. Mine that she made it clear we know next to nothing. God will does as He wills. Your's that her carefully nuanced questioing was a statement meant to question the purity of Mary.

We'll have to wait for Cindy to straighten us out. (I know I'm right.)

So it's a question of timing?

If God acts on you after you are born, in a completely gratuitous way to rescue you from sin, that does not make you divine, though you are a human whose soul is made perfect.

On the other hand, if God acts on Mary before she is born, in a completely gratuitous way to resuce her from sin, that makes her divine?

Smokey Mountains. Stupid airlines I was gonna leave early Tuesday morning, work half a day at my customers, finish up the next morning and go home.

Instead, they cancelled my morning flight (since the plane was broken, I guess it's for the better) and didn't deliver me to Tennesse until too late to get into the factory for the day.

So that's one whole day wasted. I got up at 5 and drove to the airport for a 9AM flight and didn't leave till 2PM.

The next day I couldn't get everything I wanted done in the time I had alloted, so I had to cancel my 3 PM flight home.

But due to cutbacks there was no flight that evening, so I had to stay another night and wait until 11AM the next day.

Another day wasted.

My mother-in-law was drinking some Manischewitz on Easter, and I pointed out that it really wasn't designed to go with ham.

LOL!

This is the point. We do not know how God became Incarnate, but we do know that Mary was the actual biological mother of Jesus. That this is denied by folks was quite a shock to me.

Your's that her carefully nuanced questioing was a statement meant to question the purity of Mary.

Not the "purity" of Mary, but her maternity of Jesus. If Mary is not the actual mother of Jesus, we have vastly different conceptions of the event.

Yes, Cindy can try to straighten out what she intended.

It is certainly possible to claim that the terms were used independent of each other, and for different purposes.

Those big ones are good. Kinda costly tho. You only get 4 for 5.99. The other dogs pale in comparison.
