The Neverending Story
An ongoing debate on Scripture, Tradition, History and Interpretation.

Statesmen may plan and speculate for liberty, but it is religion and morality alone which can establish the principles upon which freedom can securely stand. The only foundation of a free constitution is pure virtue. - John Adams

If, as some believe, He was no relation to Mary, then He woudl not be Jewish

Jesus Saves, Mary doesn't. In this case why wouldn't your first inclination be to say that Jesus is the link?

And I wish the rest of you a blessed Easter!

Thanks but......
Our little church calls it resurrection day, not Easter, we have resurrection Lillies, and resurrection candy and etc.

Saturday evening we get together for a resurrection meeting at sunset.

Have a great Passover. Do you have to rid the property of all leavening, or does your wife have priority there? Lol

JH :-)

Teen Blinded When Frog Shot From Potato Gun

DALLAS - A teenager was blinded after being struck in the face with a frog shot from a so-called "potato gun."

Daniel Benjamin Berry, 17, received the injury after he looked down the barrel of the gun's PVC pipe barrel and was hit in the face by the frog. ...

When it misfired, Daniel Berry looked down the barrel to see what was wrong when the gun went off, Patton said.

My 15 year old son made a potato gun. He shoots targets 3 blocks away with fruits and vegetables. :-)

The Pope holds that Mary intervened with God to deflect the bullet. Not that Mary has any power that God didn't give to her.

In fact, in 1982, one year after the attempt on his life, Pope John Paul II traveled to Fatima to thank Mary for having saved his life from the assassin's bullet. There, he reminded us that the "message of Fatima is [even] more relevant than it was 65 years ago. It is [even] more urgent."

And today we know that Pope John Paul II is widely believed to be the bishop "clothed in white" described in the Third Secret as falling "to the ground, apparently dead under a burst of gunfire." In fact, Sr. Lucia -- the remaining Fatima visionary -- agrees with the often quoted statement of the Holy Father, "It was a mother's hand that guided the bullet's path and, in his throes, the pope halted at the threshold of death."

Who, according to the Pope, "guided" the bullet? Has the Pope ever thanked God for doing so?

I'm sure this is just by accident and not a consequence of you wanting to hate her.

The surest sign you are in over your head is when you bring out the "hate" word. Time to try a new tactic!

Yeah Reggie, the Pope thanked and loved Gos so much, he decided to forgive the man who shot. Ring a bell? Kind of like when Jesus forgave the people crucifying him.

I'm sorry, saying you hate her is wrong. Please accept my retraction of that.

I jumped on you for the use of the word "hate" before I read this. I was too quick on the trigger. It is not the first time in the past few days you have resorted to this tactic however. Maybe you should carefully consider why you do so?

They only said they were at the Vatican. It is not just one big Church, you know. There are museums and apartments and offices and stuff.

And souvenir shops. And souvenir shops. and souvenir shops.....................and souvenir shops. All this in 100 acres.

And souvenir shops.

I wonder if one could save a lot of money buying indulgences at the Vatican, being so close to the source.

Maybe u know a better person to pray to. Or maybe we can't pray to someone who was born without Original Sin. I think Jesus would smile upon a man who HONORED (NOT WORSHIP) His mother.

What's your point? Did the Pope thank God for guiding the bullet?

If I, or anyone, forgives any person for any grievance does that make us Jesus?

No doubt Jesus loved his mother. Will you please provide Scripture which indicates either/and Jesus paying "honor" to His mother, Mary was without original sin.

Sorry Invincibly Ignorant, Mary foretold this event, so maybe she received some type of power by being the Mother of God; or maybe being born w/o Original Sin; or maybe being assumed into Heaven body and soul. How about that fundamentalism? And of course u can know what millions people think about the nature of Mary, right? Sounds like you are a divine being, you dunce. <:-)

I'm not sure of your point, Chuck. I cetainly see nothign there saying that the date for Easter was set to eternally separate it from the Passover.

Easter is celebrated on the first Sunday after the first full moon after the Vernal Equinox. Thus, the solar event of the Equinox is the deciding factor, and not a mere calculation based upon the Hebrew lunar month.

Yes, the full moon also comes into play, but only as a secondary factor.

When is Easter ?

Matthew 23:39 For I tell you, you will not see me again until you say,
`Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.'" [Psalm 118:26]
