The Neverending Story
An ongoing debate on Scripture, Tradition, History and Interpretation.
Statesmen may plan and speculate for liberty, but it is religion and morality alone which can establish the principles upon which freedom can securely stand. The only foundation of a free constitution is pure virtue. - John Adams |

Some prefer no work.
I kinda like that one. :)
Consider it yours then. :-)
Tell dad Hi, and that the Human Services Dept. should be visiting any day now to see if what he tells me about you is true.

False hope because you expect a physical manifestation of this. I believe in the spiritual reality of this starting in AD 70.Quite frankly, I don't care if its physical or spiritual. I'm just glad its gonna happen. Now that's hope.

What makes you think that this used-to-be futurist didn't have that experience to get where I am today? What makes you think that's what I think?
To: JHavard
We can always debate how we feel our belief is more reasonable then others, just as some prefer Chevys over Fords or Plymouths, but they both take us from point A to B, and B is the kingdom of heaven.
JH :-)
You have posted this before. And I have always agreed.
I believe by to my whole being that this one thing is true. It fits the whole of scripture all too well.
But even if it is, it is God's place to reveal it to all.
And I believe 100 pct that why He does not, in all the differences in the church, is because they are there for the benefit of those who believe it. Just as you said.
But because God allows this, does not make the particulars we believe true. Still either free-will or forced will is true. Either He came or He did not. Eitrher tongues is for today or it is not, etc. But only A or B is true.
Therefore I will believe A, or B. And when I believe that, and see someone I believe has not realized the truth of A or B, I am obligated to say so.
I do not believe it is necessary for salvation, but whether you believe it or not, TRUTH will always add, never take away from the fulfillment we have as God's children.

And I am just glad it happened.
That is fulfillment!!

We checked into the Journey/REO Speedwagon/Styx tour, but they just want too much money for these things nowadays.

It hasn't happened. You're still in a fallen state. Proof? I have a receeding hairline and you probably still have a pimple.
Proverbs 26:12 Seest thou a man wise in his own conceit? there is more hope of a fool than of him.
To: nate4one
So where do you believe you (literally) go when you die?
To: Invincibly Ignorant
own conceit?
I hold my opinion of past fulfillment no more than you hold yours of future.
You have always resorted to personal scripture like this as if my level of conficence, which you accuse as pride, are any higher than yours.
You're still in a fallen state. Proof? I have a receeding hairline and you probably still have a pimple.
MAn looks at the outside, God looks at the heart. This is the point of scripture. Appearance has jack to do with a "fallen state."
To: CindyDawg
To be with the Lord.
But like in Isaiah, the picture of "heavens and earth" are not literal for this world. They are descriptions of a restored Edenic relationship with the Father. the purpose of Christ.
Never forget that He came into this world not to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

Whats that about a pot and kettle?

That is certainly true although in your case its used to justify your denial. Appearance? My physical body is still subject to decay in the universe. Therefore I still have hope. Sorry that in your conceit you don't.

Live in the now, man! About 2 years after I got married, I realized that I didn't need any new music. I had already passed my formative years.
Now I'm so old that Metallica is older than the babysitter. Appetite for Destruction is ancient history.

Who's the mathematician here?
If a 24 hour day in heaven, is the same as a thousand years to us humans on earth, what part of a day, or how many minutes would a man who lives to be 80 years old represent?
I can't believe I used to love problems like this, but now I can't figure it.
JH :-)
To: nate4one
ok, let me try this again. Where will you and the Lord be? (and please don't tell me heaven since I'm not sure where you believe heaven is. Got a map? :') ).
To: SoothingDave

Per your questions parameters ... a man living for 80 years on earth ... has lived for about 2 heavenly (that's time and not condition) hours.

Thank you, for breaking it down for me, I was just starting on Macks minute break down.
Then when God says, the day is near, or the time is short, then through His eyes, if we are 40 years old, we have one hour left before judgment day.
When we are 60 years old, in God's eyes, we have a half hour before judgment.
No wonder when He says "seek ye the Lord while He may be found," He knows we humans haven't time to waste.
According to that, I have a round 13 minutes left, before judgment day.
Forgive me if my post are short. :-) JH
