Current events regarding Iran have prompted the question, where is this situation placed in the book of Revelation? Bible prophecy is important because it is practical to us today; it should be viewed as a practical guide. Indeed, that’s what the Bible is, and much of the Bible, the word of God, is prophecy. If we are to be good stewards of God’s word, then we must be good stewards of its prophetic content. When it comes to prophecy and current events, many people are oblivious. While prophecy should be considered from a holistic view of the Bible, the question about Revelation will here be addressed.
Chronological Order of Revelation
The book of Revelation is not so difficult to understand with the realization that it is in chronological order. In chapter 1 verse 19, the overview of Revelation is given: “What you have seen, what is now, and what will take place later.” That is, Christ has been seen resurrected and glorified (past), He is the head of the church throughout the church age (present), and He will remain sovereign thereafter (future –beginning in Revelation chapter 4). There is a great fallacy in trying to place future events of Revelation in the present. What does apply to the present is the Laodicean mindset.
Correlation between Military Aspects and Economics
Military expenditures are alarming, and there is a trending surge in the military industrial complex, not just in the U.S. but around the world. This is relevant to all taxpayers. Interestingly, in the U.S.-Iran negotiations, the main incentive for Iran is economic – the lifting of imposed sanctions and participation in the so-called “golden age”. The U.S. administration has even used the slogan “make Iran great again.” In fact, what led to the current situation in Iran was worsening economic conditions [1], attributable in large part to sanctions. Inversely, removal of sanctions could allow Iran to invest more heavily in military capabilities [2]. The Israeli PM insists than any deal with Iran also addresses their ballistic missile program [3], while Iran has asserted that their ballistic missile program is non-negotiable [4].
Laodicean Characteristics
Today we are in the wealthiest time of history. The Laodicean mindset is that riches and wealth are all that is needed [5]. The illusion is that these things are a failsafe, resolve problems, and provide fulfillment and a sense of security, resulting in smugness when amassed. This is characteristic of the mainstream today. In this context, a good cross-reference passage is the parable of the rich fool, which contrasts this mindset with being rich toward God [6]. There is a definite trade-off between love and trust in riches, with love and trust in God. 2 Timothy 3:2-4 says it like this “lovers of money…rather than lovers of God.” In the Laodicean letter, the Lord Jesus Christ is described as “the faithful and true witness”. The implication is that in these days when it’s difficult to get the truth, that is who He is – the faithful and true witness.

Iran/Persia/Elam is in Ez 38,39 and Revelation.
If Trump crushes Ira which is doubtful the prophecies remain,Persia is an enemy to Israel until the Megiddo.
If Trump does crush Persia somehow it may set back the next prophetic battles but God’s word is God’s word.
One must also remember that America, at near $40 trillion in debt we won’t be able to sustain this much longer.
Third view is there’s a harpazo and whamo, Iran is miraculously saved, Israel rejoices, the planet rejoices, no more Christians...peace for 3.5 years.
Our current entanglement with Leftism/Marxism and Islam (including the Iranian mullahs) seems to be an extension of that metaphysical evil.
The same pattern fits all ideologies. Evil will move in where it can.
The only defense against this evil is true Christianity.

This is exactly why the enemy has strongholds on certain nations and that Christianity is massively persecuted when it begins to made inroads.
China, Africa, the Middle East, South America....
In the past Europe and North Africa and Israel of course.

Unfortunately, the Bible was not originally written in English.
Revelation was written for the Jews of the 1st century. Makes me crazy how many don’t understand that. Every generation “sees” something in their time they believe to be in that book. It’s not. Nero was the anti-Christ of that generation. The one that rises at the end of this age will make that monster look like a softy.

The predator?
It is my understanding that one of the last day events will be Iran repenting and following God.
Dispensationalists drive me nuts.

I have read where those spiritual forces may have been at work even earlier and may have had something to do with the great wave of emmigration from Germany to America prior to WW-1.
Just like people now sense things are going wrongly but for very different reasons, people back then were sensing similarly that things were going wrong.
Only 5% of Iranians are Muslims, the 95% hate Islam.
I think that only a fraction of that 5% really believes in Islam.
If the Iranian government is deposed and freedom comes back to Iran, only a fraction of the 5%, maybe only 2% will stay Muslim.
That’s how I read Iran, based on what I’ve been able to find out.
If that’s true, why kill them?
We aren’t trying to kill Iranians. We are trying to remove their government. Their government is trying to kill Iranians. 40,000 to 60,000 est. have been killed by the Iranian government since the beginning of the year.
The Iranians cannot get rid of their government, because they are kept unarmed and their government is willing to kill every Iranian in order to keep power.
What happened to no more foreign wars or regime change?
This place is schizophrenic.
The differentiation that I make is that it is the government of Iran making the request for the regime change. The IRGC are not the government of the people, because the IRGC would happily kill every Iranian to maintain power.
The government of Iran making the request are the Iranians themselves.
No matter the justification, it’s the antithesis of what most everyone was saying for years.
And there is no w Erica first in that justification.
