HAMTRAMCK, Mich. (AP) — A Detroit-area city that banned LGBTQ+ flags from publicly owned flagpoles did not violate the Constitution, a judge said.
U.S. District Judge David Lawson dismissed a lawsuit against Hamtramck, two years after the city council voted to allow only five flags, including the American flag, the Michigan flag and flags that “represent the international character” of residents. The city is known for welcoming immigrants.
A pride flag was flown in June 2021 and 2022 before some members of the all-Muslim council said it clashed with the beliefs of some members of their faith. Businesses and residents aren’t prohibited from displaying a pride flag on their own property in Hamtramck.
Critics of the new policy said Hamtramck was violating free speech. But Lawson said the city’s policy was OK because it bans all private flags not just some.
“Hamtramck’s refusal to display the Gay Pride flag did not violate the Constitution,” the judge said Monday.

Yes, partisan political banners of ANY kind do not belong on government property. The government is everyone’s government, not only the government of one activist position or another.
Smoking is legally O.K. Would the public accept banners on government property expressing “pride” in smoking, just because it is legally O.K. No. And on the same basis LGBT “pride” banners also not belong on government property.
You can be sure if this were in the - what Madman Mamdani calls - “Whiter Areas” - there would be all hell to pay and the hammer slammed down on the community.
It would also be international news - with activists suing individual members of the city council, etc. for civil rights violations - and winning large settlements in court.
I’d like to see them take on the Muslims.

The left always shows you whom they fear the most. (typed in my best Rush voice). They know that gay stuff always destroys a civilization. The left don't fear Muslims, so the left isn't trying to destroy them. However, the left fears whites. So the LGBTQWERTY stuff is promoted heavily among whites.

They didn’t ban any flags. They just said only the U.S., state, city and POW-MIA flags can be flown on public property. People can still fly any flag they want on their private property.
