The Inquisition was used against anyone not Catholic.
Or anyone suspected of not being Catholic or Catholic enough.
Those groups did not need to be included. Islam could have been dealt without inflicting it on Jews, Christians or other non-Catholics.
The inquisition was mostly about eliminating the constant threat of a restive Muslim population that was endlessly causing trouble, just as it does today. It worked and worked well and Spain and Catholics should feel ZERO guilt about it.
I find it suspicious that newbie “patriot torch” comes up with this post while a cathedral is burning down in France. He is just running defense for mad dog Muslims.
Nonsense.
The Inquisition was an ecclesiastical court dealing with the internal workings of the Church. It had zero jurisdiction over Jews and Muslims...unless they were baptized and living as crypto-Jews and crypto-Muslims within the Church. People of other religions were persecuted *by the state.* And actually, those found guilty by the Inquisition were also executed *by the state*.
your lack of historical knowledge is almost as bad as your lack of biblical knowledge — no, the inquisition was not used against non-Catholics. The Muslims and Jews were not the subject of prosecution
Only those baptised as Catholics were brought before ecclesiastical courts
