The American Revolution was a Presbyterian revolt

American Democracy Was Born of Christianity The Second American Revolution is being waged by a different sort of people. Those purging history from our streets are already coming for the Founders. John Witherspoon’s statue in Washington, D.C. has been left alone — but that’s because they don’t know who he is. They do not believe in liberty and individual responsibility under God. Most do not believe in God. They believe in collective responsibility, not individual responsibility. Comparisons have been made between the rioters and the Patriots. It is only being made by the staggeringly ignorant.

American democracy was born of Christianity. Without that lifeblood sustaining the Republic, she is living on borrowed time. It is significant that the French Revolution has gained popularity amongst the rioters. These people seek no continuity with the past. They do not recognize God’s sovereignty. And they do not know their own history.

On Independence Day, it is more important to fight them tooth and nail than ever. The soul of America is at stake.

The American Revolution started because of a 2% tax increase on a breakfast beverage.

How far we have fallen.

The majority of the founding fathers were Anglican, not Presbyterian

The American combine the notions of Christianity and of Liberty so intimately in their minds that it is impossible to make them conceive the one without the other. -Alexis de Tocqueville, 1835

Pastors were so important in the Revolution that they were recognized by their opponents. The British called them THE BLACK REGIMENT because the ministers wore black robes. They were recruiting men to fight. The British blamed the preachers for the American Revolution. When the British caught a preacher as a prisoner of war they were treated more severely than were the American soldiers that were captured.

King George III called it The Presbyterian Revolution.

ps: I am not a Presbyterian.

Oh the lib Presbyterians are very cringe.

As are the lib everything else.

But there are Bible believing Presbyterian denominations, if you added them all up you’d have maybe a million or so members? So we are hanging in there.

Congregationalists in the beginning, still fighting against the crown like they had in the previous century. But taxes and trade had a lot to do with Americans’ discontent early on.

PCA, Wikipedia sez 395K as of last year.

NAPARC: OPC 33K RPCNA 7K. ARP 22K.

Non NAPARC: EPC 121K, ECO 130K

Stats from Wikipedia.

If you include the 2 most recent spinoffs from the PCUSA, somewhere in the neighborhood of 700K. If you don't, under a half million.
