CV NEWS FEED // After sentencing 75-year-old Paulette Harlow to two years in jail, Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly quipped about the elderly pro-lifer’s husband’s concern that she might die in prison. Kollar-Kotelly commented that she hopes Harlow will “make an effort to remain alive” because that is a “tenet of [Harlow’s] religion,” according to LiveAction.
On May 31, in a federal Washington, D.C. court, Kollar-Kotelly sentenced Harlow to two years in jail and 36 months of supervised release for protesting at a notorious late-term abortion clinic in Washington, D.C. with eight others.
John Harlow, Paulette’s husband, spoke in court before the sentencing about his concerns for his wife’s declining health and his fear that she might die in prison.
“In my heart, I think she’s having a hard time staying alive,” John said, according to LiveAction. “We’ve tried to be good people,” he later added. “I love my wife dearly… We’re throwing ourselves on the mercy of the court.”
In November 2023, Paulette was convicted of violating the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act and of “conspiracy against civil rights.”
In May 2024, Paulette’s eight co-defendants were also sentenced to various lengths of time in prison followed by supervised release. On May 14, Harlow’s co-defendant Lauren Handy was sentenced to almost five years in prison.
Paulette has remained under house arrest since November 2023 due to her medical needs.
Paulette’s attorney, Allen Orenberg, also spoke in court before the sentencing about Paulette’s ongoing medical challenges.
“She cannot continue to exist without support, especially that of her husband,” Orenberg said.
According to LiveAction, Kollar-Kotelly concluded that Paulette “violated abortion-seekers’ civil rights, describing the rescue action as ‘violent,’ and characterizing [Paulette] as lacking in kindness and remorse.”

After pronouncing sentence, Kollar-Kotelly made a cryptic statement regarding her hope that Harlow would “make an effort to remain alive” because that is a “tenet of [Harlow’s] religion.”
I really wish he would.
Isn’t there a “big guns” prolife law firm that can defend these heros? Like the Sir Thomas Moore society?
My Archbishop doesn’t like to get involved in politics. I bet Fr.Paul Scalia has an opinion as to what’s going on.
Dear God send help.
Judge has gone more lefty as the years have gone by. My guess is she is an irascible old person who tends to lose control of her mind and mouth.....certainly suitable for a replacement for Biden. See wikipedia for a list of her “accomplishments”
She’s got those small, hooded eyes like Biden’s.
Your cattle car is the one in the right.
If she doesn't earn a life in eternal flame, than I'll be surprised.
