Seriously?

Crazy.

An officially atheist communist regime knows who should be bishops or cardinals in the Roman Catholic Church.

So much for "freedom of religion".

So much for ecumenism.

I thought these were the main points being pushed by Vatican II.

Mark 16:15 He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation."

Except China, cos they're communist, and communism trumps Christianity.

Oh Lord, I really saw this headline and first wondered where the Babylon Bee was going with this. For shame that it is not a parody.

Can a Pope be removed from office? According to the following article (https://catholiccrusade.org/can-the-catholic-church-remove-a-pope/) the answer is no.

Excerpts from the article:

The pope cannot be impeached or recalled. Overall, the pope has enormous protections from being involuntarily removed. As the Vicar of Christ, he occupies an unparalleled position of power and authority in the Catholic Church. However, there are some limited ways a pope’s reign can end prematurely. They include:

Resignation, Death, Mental Incapacity, Heresy.

Barring resignation, death, incapacitation, or apostasy, a pope cannot be forcibly stripped of his status once elevated to the papacy.

If a pope were to commit heresy, defined as “the obstinate denial or obstinate doubt after the reception of baptism of some truth which is to be believed by divine and Catholic faith,” he would automatically lose his office. But this has never happened.

There are a few Cardinals and Bishops who have been saying or implying that some of Francis' teachings and positions are heretical. They seem to be a minority (of Cardinals & Bishops).

A Chinese Jesuit, Ma Xiang Bo, (who later left the priesthood) created China’s earliest, and most famous Universities - Fu Dan University in Shanghai (which still exists, although not Catholic) and Fu Ren University in Beijing, which later moved to Taiwan.

there is nothing to apologize for
