Florida priest charged for biting arm of woman he says was desecrating Eucharist

I’ve got an in-law who has an in-law who’s brother is a Catholic priest. I once asked him what would he do if someone he knew wasn’t Catholic got in line for communion. He said he’d give it to them. For what it’s worth.

I support him as well. If she’s referring to the host as a cookie then she’s not Catholic and cannot receive it.

I do, too. She was in the wrong for trying to receive a second time, knowing full well that she intended to make a scene and to desecrate the hosts. The priest did the right thing by protecting them. Too bad he could only see biting her as an option, though I don’t know what else he could’ve done. What he had tried before hadn’t worked, and this time, she grabbed several hosts.

There used to be altar boy who accompanied the priest while dispensing Communion. The altar boy would hold a small platter under the recipient's chin to catch any crumbs that might drop.Of course, that tradition has long since disappeared.

Smacking her with the platter would have been much more appropriate than biting her.
