The Vatican’s doctrine office will publish a new document next week on discerning Marian apparitions and other supernatural events.

The Holy See Press Office announced on Tuesday that Cardinal Víctor Manuel Fernández, the prefect of the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith (DDF), will unveil new norms for discernment regarding “apparitions and other supernatural phenomena” on Friday, May 17.

In an interview with the National Catholic Register, CNA’s sister news partner, last month, Fernandez said that the document will provide “clear guidelines and norms” for discernment.

The new norms will be the first time that the Vatican’s doctrinal office has issued a general document on apparitions in four decades. Pope Paul VI approved norms on “the discernment of presumed apparitions or revelations” in 1978.

Luk 2:19 But Mary treasured up all these things, pondering them in her heart.

Many personal interactions with God are intended as just that. When they get out into the public there is too much rumor and speculation.

We were told what needed to be told. Do not add or detract from God’s word. Ponder. God will speak to you through his Word. NOT OTHERS as the main source.

The above speaks to proper perspective on Mary.

Mary did not ascend, but the tradition is that her body went to heaven with her soul at the moment of her death, and no one ever claimed to have her remains to my knowledge (the truth of the Catholic Faith is found both in Scripture and Tradition).

Concerning Purgatory, see Matthew 5:28 - “Amen, I say to you, you will not be released until you have paid the last penny.”

Many seeking inspuration are convicted by the biblical examples of Paul (Saul) and Mary of Magdala.

Among post-biblical examples, there is Augustine who became a doctor of the Church (very rare).

Information about Mary of Magdala (Mary Magdalene) is admittedly hard to come by.

For Maria Valtorta’s treatment of the Jesus’ deliverance and conversion of Mary Magdalene, see the following chapters of Valtorta’s “Poem of the Man God”, Volume 1:

and of Valtorta’s “Poem of the Man God”, Volume 2:

she is worshipped by the Roman Catholic Church who has made her divine.

Do you really think God is going to reward you for lying?

MARY HAD 6 OTHER CHILDREN

The Bible never says anything like this, in fact it never identifies anyone other than Jesus as a (biological) son or daughter of Mary. Why do you insist that other people believe in your man-made tradition?

James the less is identified in Scripture as the "son of Alphaeus" (Mk 3:18). Jude/Judas "not the Iscariot", also called "brother of Jesus" was in fact James' son, see Acts 1:13. James and Jude cannot have simultaneously been both blood brothers of Jesus and father and son.

The Bible doesn't tell us who "Alphaeus" was, but tradition (through Eusebius) says he was Joseph's brother.

Also, if Mary had surviving children other than Jesus, Jesus sinned on the cross by giving her to John (not a blood relative in any respect). Jesus really is divine and didn't do that. Don't like that? Take it up with the Lutheran scholar Joachim Jeremias; it's his insight.

However, it DOES say *complete* and *equipped for every good work*. That's pretty sufficient.

Try reading it in context. It's addressed to Timothy, and speaks of "the Scriptures you have known since infancy". Well, that certainly didn't include the New Testament, or if it did, it only included a tiny bit of it. So is the Old Testament alone "sufficient"?

Timothy was also an ordained bishop (see the reference to "what you have received from me through the laying-on of hands") _and_ had heard Apostolic preaching personally. So he wasn't just handed three-ring binder Bible with space left for the parts of the NT that hadn't been written yet and told, "Here it is -- this is all you need!"

Try bringing something of substance to the discussion. I’ve noted from other debates with RCs like yourself is the retreat to the juvenile remarks when the argument goes against them…which is quite often.

Ephesians 6:11-13 says, “Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of darkness in this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.
Not part of an armor but the whole armor.

John 15:26 ERV “I will send you the Helper from the Father. The Helper is the Spirit of truth who comes from the Father. When he comes, he will tell about me.

Sorry, but neither of these verses teach Sola Scriptura. At most the Ephesians passage speaks of the Word of God as part of what a Christian needs to be fully equipped.

You see, Jesus didn't leave us a man made denomination but the Holy Spirit to guide us.

He didn't leave us a "man made" church, as many denominational and non-denominational churches founded by men are (it is a matter of historical fact that one can look up), but he did leave us one, visible, Church which in Matthew 16 he promised the gates of hell would not prevail against. If you don't believe this, you are the one who is calling Jesus a liar or a fraud.

That's everything a man needs to believe, else you think the Bible is lying.

I don't believe the Bible is lying (by the way, a book can't lie; only people lie), but it never says that it and the Holy Spirit are all we need as Christians. Anywhere. Never.

Jesus is the Only answer and He is a Jealous God. Not sharing His Glory or salvation With any others and That’s
A Hard Saying.
Jesus came to destroy the Works of the devil who is more than capable of destroying mortal man with Idols.
Jesus wishes All to be Saved But He will not save them with their idols.

I had a change of heart and REPENTED, not REVERTED.

I live for Jesus now, not some corrupt, immoral, pedo infested, cocaine orgy sponsoring religious organization led by apostates.

When a non -Catholics minister has a moral failing, Catholics use it as an example of the weakness of being not Catholic and under one centralized governing body.

When Catholic clergy does it, it’s blown off by Catholics as not a big deal because they believe in *true* Catholicism, whatever version of it is the one they favor.

It IS in context.

We don’t cherry pick verses to support out predetermined doctrine like Catholicism has done.

Show me in Scripture where it says that everything a Christian needs to believe is found in Scripture. Surely such a foundational doctrine would be explicitly found there. Don't bother with 2 Timothy 3:16 because it only says that Scripture is "useful" or "profitable," not sufficient. However, it DOES say *complete* and *equipped for every good work*. That's pretty sufficient.
---------------------------------------
Pretty convenient for you all to reject off hand the Scripture that disproves your argument against the Bible alone being sufficient for spiritual growth in Christ.

Pretty convenient for you to ignore other Scripture verses that are not part of a canned anti-Catholic talking point.

For example, James 1:3-4 teaches us:

For you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.

So does this mean that steadfastness is all we need to "be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing"? No, but just like Scripture, it is only part of what we need. You need to read your whole Bible and not rely on cherry-picked verses.
