Pretty convenient for you to ignore other Scripture verses that are not part of a canned anti-Catholic talking point.
For example, James 1:3-4 teaches us:
For you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.
So does this mean that steadfastness is all we need to "be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing"? No, but just like Scripture, it is only part of what we need. You need to read your whole Bible and not rely on cherry-picked verses.
I read the whole thing, something I was forbidden to do by the Catholic church growing up as a Catholic.
When tempted by Satan Jesus said;
