Actor and comedian Russell Brand announced Friday that he is going to be baptized this weekend, the culmination of his months-long public wrestling with the tenets of Christianity.
"This Sunday, I'm taking the plunge," Brand, 48, said in a video he posted to X. "I'm getting baptized."

Pretty amazing.
Things you wouldn’t have thought would happen.
Ironically he went in the opposite direction of his ex-wife, Katy Perry.
That was my thought. Katy’s father is a pastor I believe.
Wow.
Is that the Seventh Sign of the Apocalypse?
That could be one contributing factor.
I wish him well, and hope it is an enduring transformation in him.
Public conversions speak my skeptical side, but Godspeed.
speak to
First bath he’s probably had in ten years.
I’m sure it’ll be a monetized baptism for show.
I like him and he has become a lovely person.
Terrible thing to say.
Never heard of him.
This is pretty amazing.
God, please help those in his life properly guide and encourage his walk and may he grow in his Christian faith.
Amen
I hope he goes dark for a while and becomes truly discipled in Scripture. Would be a good thing to get deep into the Word of God and not draw too much attention to himself. Big risks, and if this is a true conversion, Satan will target him. He needs to armor up.
(actually, we all need to do that; my point is that someone in the public eye is going to be subject to a lot of temptation because the enemy likes to make spectacles of believers who fail publicly. see: Jim Bakker)
Hope this isn’t a Kanye conversion. All for show, for all the wrong reasons. Pray for a real salvation. I’ve watched plenty of his videos, and it’s hard to believe that he would accept the Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life.
Is he saved?
Brand was red-pilled prey hard during COVID. Since that time he has been on a path of inquiry and intellectual honesty. IMHO, any person who sincerely seeks objective truth will ultimately end up embracing Christianity as that’s where the path naturally leads. I’m not a consistent follower of Brand, but I have periodically listened to this commentary over the past few years. I think this is probably a genuine conversion, not that it’s any place of mine too make that determination.
