I would appreciate a complimentary visit to my website, if you are so inclined. After all, my work is done for free, because other than one small link to my wife's hairdresser's website, there are no overwhelming adds that will drive you crazy. I do what I do for the enjoyment I get, not for profit. Truth is, it is a losing venture, but I do enjoy it……..

When I was a kid in Texas, the stores were closed on Sunday. grocery stores were open, but only for food, no household things, etc. Those aisles were roped off.

Yes, I remember those days well.
However, the sabbath I speak of is that new should observe Saturday as the Jews do.

The Sabbath is the only law of the 10 not repeated in the NT for Christians.

Now when He had departed from there, He went into their synagogue. As was the custom of His day. It was NOT as the Lord had commanded. The first instruction on the Sabbath in Exodus 16:29:
See, for that the LORD hath given you the sabbath, therefore he giveth you on the sixth day the bread of two days; abide ye every man in his place, let no man go out of his place on the seventh day. One is to prepare for the Sabbath sufficiently to be able to shelter in place. It would of course be bad news for the priestly class.

It was actually Exodus 16:23 when first mentioned.
Then he said to them, "This is what the LORD has said: 'Tomorrow is a Sabbath rest, a holy Sabbath to the LORD. Bake what you will bake today, and boil what you will boil; and lay up for yourselves all that remains, to be kept until morning.' "

You are absolutely NOT wrong but the SDA and other cults will still try to corrupt the gospel by mandating ALL Christians must observe as they do or they are “practicing lawlessness” and will go to hell. It doesn’t do much good to show them all the Biblical truths since they are totally convinced their righteousness is what will save them. Only the Holy Spirit can take the blinders off.

The Sabbath is the only law of the 10 not repeated in the NT for Christians.True dat. But notice it is the only one that starts with Remember as if people would forget or want to forget.

in light of the fact that the 7th day Sabbath was a given and never disputed by anyone, Why, exactly, would it even need repeating? wasn’t the first accusation against Jesus “breaking the Sabbath” and yet Jesus stated that “One jot or title of The LAW shall pass away until Heaven and earth have passed away”? it’s a choice that you must personally choose, whether to keep man’s sabbath, designated as the first day, or GOD’s Sabbath...the 7th day. your choice.

In Re: Case in point is chapters 11 and 12 of Matthew’s Gospel. I personally believe that he made a mistake by ending Matthew chapter 11 at verse 30. It’s my belief that chapter 11 should have had 8 more verses for a total of 38. Thus it would end after the following statement by Jesus, .....”“For the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath.”
(Matthew 12:8)
That is not a statement that changes the fourth commandment. Read appropriately in the context of the verses before Matthew 12:8, even if restored as verses in Matthew 11. No, it is a statement about conduct on the Sabbath, not about honoring or not honoring the true Sabbath, which is the 7th day of the week, same as the 7th day of Creation.

In re: “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
(Matthew 11:28-30) ....”By speaking about the concept of rest, the audience He is speaking to would automatically think of the Sabbath rest which God gave them.”
Yes and no but not generally for the promise in Matthew 11:28-30 is universal and not time or day dependent.
