Celebrity pastor Joel Osteen has said he's 'devastated' by the shooting at his Houston megachurch after two off-duty cops killed the shooter.
Two other people were shot and injured, including a five-year-old boy who was hospitalized in critical condition.
Osteen wrote on X that his 'community is devastated by today's events and grateful for the swift actions of law enforcement.'
'In the face of such darkness, we must hold onto our faith and remember that evil will not prevail,' he added.
'God will guide us through the darkest of times. Together, we will rise above this tragedy and stand firm in our commitment to love and support one another.'
Houston police and FBI agents were seen in Conroe Sunday night reportedly raiding a house related to the suspect. Details of the confrontation remain unclear in the hours after the tragedy, and police have not released the woman´s identity or a possible motive.
It's also unknown what relationship, if any, the woman had to the boy, and who actually shot him and the man.
The suspect entered the building with the five-year-old boy shortly before 2pm and the child was shot and critically injured.
Police Chief Troy Finner said it was not clear whether the young child was struck by the officers - a 28-year-old Houston police officer and a 38-year-old agent with the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission - who returned fire.
Finner said after the woman began shooting, both officers 'engaged' her and the woman was killed.
He praised the officers for quickly confronting the woman, adding, 'She had a long gun, and it could have been a lot worse.'

Sixteen hours after the shooting and the only new information released is that the police raided a house associated with the shooter. That seems odd to me...even for Houston.

Both of you posting what you did above, you gives advocation to my view that whoever displeases me deserves something very bad happening to them, especially the government. See what you've started? Even though I too do not believe Joel Osteen is genuine re: religion, that does NOT validate having someone go in there and try to shoot people.
People deserved to be punished for what THEY do, not others around them do. The decision-makers in this country DESERVE severe punishment for what they have done and are doing, NOT innocent government workers who have no hand in decisions and innocent people around them.

I looked in the past 10 minutes...over all Houston TV stations...no name or ‘motive’. Pretty weird...would make me think it’s a trans-lady.
She “started shooting” but who did she hit? All of the injuries could have been caused by the security fire.
Using a child as a human shield? Hamas?

The hurricane victims in Houston washed ashore from New Orleans during Katrina years before. They are human refuse and would have destroyed their facility. Nor in need of aide. They’re just looking for free stuff and stuff to steal.
Bush destroyed Houston forever by encouraging this scum to evacuate to Houston. It’s never been the same and getting worse every day. Turned it solidly democrat in one year.
That said, this preacher gives me the creeps. I know nothing about him, but just looking at him tells me to stay away.
Osteen is sending all those people to hell
One Sunday the pastor of our church said from the pulpit that there had been death threats against him. He said he was trusting in God. Besides that, how many men in this congregation are packing heat?
At least a hundred men raised their hands. I imagine plenty of women were armed as well.
Well, that tells one thing. If shooter was MAGA we would be hearing about it from every outlet by now.
So, I’m guessing that either “she” was a “he,” or it’s a “Free Palestine” thing.
Joel’s worried his income stream may be interrupted.

I think he’s more of a motivational speaker. I’m not sure what his motivation really is but he doesn’t get into the Pastoral Realm and if he does it isn’t very often nor for any appreciable duration.

The clock is ticking, I wonder how long this will take before a name is revealed.

Surely, the neighborhood knows so why aren’t they all over soc media and tv? Why aren’t reporters (yeah, we only have 12 year old girlie journalist) staked out at the house, hospital to interview family, police station and interviewing the man who was shot? Did reporters not get a pic of the car and run the license? Isn’t the boy in school or daycare? Easy enough to property search for the home’s owner or learn the renter’s name and work. Maybe all reporters were more interested in the Super Bowl than finding out why a little child was put in the middle of this.
