Came across this the other day... Took place on 11/27/2023. Even in the bastion of darkness a light shines...
Merry Christmas All...
Sometimes Even NYC Gets It Right
That is really beautiful.
If New York get’s anything at all right in any respect it is purely accidental and the result of someone’s F’up.
According to the credits, this was done by the Church of Latter Day Saints, not NYC.
It is beautiful, no matter who was responsible.
Beautiful until you realize it is a video by a cult that doesn’t believe in Christ but uses him for recruitment.
Mormonism is not a Christian denomination but is a religion started by a hustler in the 1830s.
And some of the greatest painters of Christian art have been wastrels, sexual profligates, etc...
You are comparing a guy with flaws being a good painter to a massive international cult that adopts the appearance of Christianity to seduce people into the cult?
The message is about Christ at His birth... God can use all things for His good...
The beauty of the message is what counts here... not who produced it...
I’m saying that if the product is beautiful and inspiring, I don’t ask about the moral status of the creator. I assume there’s some redeeming quality, and just enjoy the art.
Yup
Very grateful that you posted the direct link, instead of creating a website where you could pimp it on FR, which is becoming more common on FR lately.
This is a recruiting and advertising production, the Mormons also make movies that conceal their purpose.
Recruiters will be working in that area.
This isn’t just art, it is a tool.
I enjoyed it very much.
Thank you for your comments...
There is nothing biblically unsound with the video displayed... and it is up to us to discern the wolves in sheeps clothing...
I pray this opens some peoples eyes in NYC and move them to teach out to those of faith... to question their atheist/ agnostic beliefs...
Praising God in times square is a welcomed reprieve from what normally occurs there...
In no way am I endorsing the Mormon faith... I am endorsing the need to place a light in the heart of darkness...
God Bless & Merry Christmas Jamestown1630!
Merry Christmas to you, too.
(The people in the Square certainly looked enthralled :-)
Art is subjective. Everyone takes away something different from the same piece. Just because someone sees that doesn’t mean they’re going to hop right over to Mormonism. How many of those people in Times Square do you think were driven to convert that night? I’d wager zero.
Mormons didn’t build a massive international cult by spending vast sums on promotion and recruiting to come up with zero converts to their religion.
